Kate McCann releasing a book...

interestingly, the court case against the policeman that wrote the book alleging that the McCanns had something to do with her disappearance is next month.
And now, suddenly, they have new leads, a couple of Jerry looking e-fits and a description of a German sounding white man between the ages of 20-40!!

Did it get suspended again? I know the court case began and got to day six but haven't followed since then.

After this thread the only explanation I can think of is it's their doing :( if they find her alive I'll be gobsmacked but so glad!

Interested to hear about the policemans trial! xxx

Haven't read this whole thread, but there was another thread a while back and Red Rose posted an article she'd written about the evidence that the McCanns' accidentally killed Madeline and covered it up, and I have to say that after reading that, as well as everything else, I agree that it's the most likely explanation.

I also think it's a little wrong that so much emphasis and money has been put to this case, and not to the billions of other missing people who disappear without trace and with not a second thought let alone a decade long news story. But I don't have any sort of bad feelings towards the McCanns', nor to their leaving of their children alone (yes, not a good idea, but their child is gone, punishment enough I think). If they killed her or she died and they covered it up, I don't believe that she was anything less than adored and I think that any following actions were the result of sheer panic, and it's clearly gone way too far if that is the case, but what can they do?! Tear their family apart yet further by admitting it and going to prison; allowing their younger children to believe their parents are monsters and their sister is dead? Seems simple to us, but who knows what could be going on for them both psychologically if in fact they know she's dead. Who knows, maybe they have led themselves to believe she really did just disappear.

And if they truly are ignorant then who on earth are we to criticise their actions, book included. We have no idea how we'd act or what we'd do and say if our child died or disappeared.

Seen this earlier on facebook. Interesting.

Haven't read through the whole thread but they will be on crime watch at 9, incase it wasn't already mentioned x

Anyone watching crime watch? As much as I feel so sorry for them and I know it's punishment enough loosing their child but I struggle so much with the fact they left the three most precious things in the world to them on there own, in a foreign country not much security. I know there are alot of things as parents you say I'd never do that but honestly what possessed them?
I so hope they find her but there's something that's just not right here :nope:

Xx

watching crime watch, and I just can't believe how stupid her parents could be!? sympathy that they have left their little girl. but it wouldn't of happened if they didn't leave her:(

Peer pressure? All the other parents there did it too. One of them had the idea and convinced the other parents 'it'll be fine' and they all talked each other into it is the only thing I can think.

Something about Gerry doesn't sit right with me, no idea what it is!

Really? You could be convinced of that, could you? To leave children in an apartment which is easily accessible to the public and even leave the door unlocked so you don't disturb them when going in? All so you can have a meal with your friends? I'm afraid no-one could convince me that's a good idea. Surely one grows out of peer pressure on reaching adulthood? It bothers me that they probably locked their valuables in a safe but left their children so vulnerable.

I don't think they had anything to do with it, and of course I have the hugest sympathy for anyone who loses a child. I think it was an incredibly stupid thing to do and think anyone who does this is absolutely reckless. I do think they will suffer the guilt for the rest of their lives and I'm certain no-one can make them feel as bad as they do in their own hearts.

Wow I'm so tempted to stop posting on here today I get my nose bitten off every time I post. I never said I would be convinced of it no. I suggested it as a possible reason why. Pretty sure if you trawl through this whole post there are many other suggestions more far fetched than mine.

I agree with you. I can see how it would happen. Plus it's legal in Portugal, things just seem so much more acceptable when they're legal.

Also no I don't think you grow out of peer pressure. I think it changes and develops. More commonly known amongst adults as 'keeping up with the Jones's' but essentially its the same thing.

If you look at the evidence it indicates to me she died that night.
