I've heard a few people say today 'If the McCanns were guilty they wouldn't want it re-opening'.

What BETTER way to convince people of your innocence than to campaign for a case to be re-opened, a case where you KNOW there wasn't enough forensic evidence to bring charged against you in the first place....so there's gonna be naff all four years on?

It reminds me of when they said in 2007 they would take a lie detector test. A newspaper then offered to pay for one......& they refused.

Can I also just clarify the McCanns were NEVER cleared by the Portugeuse authorities - they was not enough evidence to bring charges. I've had people throw 'they were cleared' at me - no, they weren't.

I look forward to David Cameron ordering a review of ALL missing children cases. Oh no, sorry, the McCanns say theirs is an 'exceptional case' because it's a 'British national missing abroad'

Seeing their stupid lying faces on the TV gets my back up every time. I believe personally that they did it. Even if they didn't, they are covering SOMETHING up, so so many things don't add up.

Gerry flew back to the UK for the pillowcase from Madeleine's bed as, for some reason, nothing suitable was available from the apartment, no clothes, bedding etc.

Anyone know if this is true? TattiesMum?!

Because if it is, would it be possible the pillowcase was in fact Amelie's, because then anything that may be found relating to Madeleine wouldn't be a 'direct' DNA 'hit'?

I'm just thinking out loud here & don't know where I'm going with it but it seems extraordinary that they couldn't just provide Madeleine's toothbrush? Pillow from the hotel room? .....

If that was the UK police that apartment would have been sealed and forsenics in straight away. they would have seized everything! how can the police force get away with not doing that?!?!? why has nobody from the police been fired for that?

I heard on the news at teatime that the Macanns want answers and want the governments help in getting these.

Correct me if i am wrong but they want the British taxpayers to pay for an enquiry for something that happened in another country and for the want of a better wording their own fault??

They left their children with no adult while they ate, they are educated people and their own stupidity cost them one of their children.

People do stupid things all the time. Our government should absolutely step up and try to find out what happened to Madeliene, whatever the cost.

It's not about money, it's about a little girl who has been missing for 4 years, and the authorities have given up on her.

Im sorry but when most of the general public believe that the macanns are involved in maddies dissapearence it is about OUR money!! who knows what they are spending all this money on, well apart from their mortgage.

im sorry but there are 100's of thousands of genuine children missing in the world and they dont get such a high profile search do they?

the mcannans have only been able to do so much by begging the public for more money.

there does have to come a time when you can look no more.

gerry and/or kate know exactly what happened and one day it will leak out.

I expect they are spending alot of money on private detectives ect..... as we would all do if our child was missing, and desperately wanted to find her.

Im sorry but you really need to read the full thread, every thing that people are mentioning and your shooting down has been spoken about in different stages. Can you explain why kae mccann never physically searched for her daughter, not once? or why she refused to answe all 48 questions during her interview with police? Why gerry mccanns large holdall that he tok on holiday hs never been found and he claims to not know where it is? People arnt just plucking these thoughts from thin air! Kx
