at my work they do keep in touch days, i can work 10 days out of my maternity leave without it affacting my mat pey, does anyone know if i will get paid for this or does it vary from company to company, no one seems to know im my store and i dont wanna work days if im not going to get paid

As far as I'm aware you can work the KIT days without it affecting your mat pay, but I don't think they have any obligation to pay you any extra for it, it's more to allow you keep up to date with training etc. Perhaps your company offer something extra - check with your head office? Might be worth checking directgov to see if they have any info...

I believe if you work those 10 days they do have to pay you.

I know at my company they pay you full pay for KIT days.

Im pretty sure they have to pay you your normal wage if you work any KIT days

Hiya, yes they certainly do pay you, why else would you go in!?! And that's why they cap it at 10 days as you cannot be paid for nay more whilst claiming mat. I am intersted in it, i am just wondering how to actually use the days! As a case worker, without any cases ill have nothing to actually do, other than occasional training days which may hopefully come up.xx

I am doing this and yes I get paid for it. As much as I enjoy my work I wouldn't do it if I wasn't getting paid! I get paid at my normal hourly rate along with my SMP
