Keeping Baby Warm

Laila sleeps in a vest, pjs/sleepsuit and is wrapped in a shawl with a cellular blanket folded in 2 on top of her.. with the heating on low.. like, the radiator just has a hint of heat to touch! x

Andrew is currently sleeping in a short-sleeved vest and full babygro, inside one of those cheap (t-shirt material) sleeping bags. His room is finally in the correct range 18-21 now that we've removed the computer from there. The heating is currently on, but only till about 10pm. At 11pm I'll go in and add a double flannel sheet over the top of him. That does him until morning when he wakes :)

But then, he is 7m actual age. When we first had him home after NICU, he really struggled staying warm and would sleep in vest, babygro, cardigan, and under the flannel sheet and two blankets.

Baby's extremities are generally cold to touch. When I feed Elliott in the night his hands often feel like mini ice blocks but his torso is toasty.

Up until Friday night Elliott was having a long sleeved vest, baby gro and 1.5 tog sleeping bag at night. Our room was 21-22 degrees.

However after having a meeting with the HV on Friday he now only has a baby gro and 2.5 tog sleeping bag with our room temp at 20-21 (I can't get it lower than this). These changes have been put in place as we are trying to make poor Elliott more comfortable right now.
