Ladies new to Clomid...

I would say try the dose prescribed, if the side effects are really harsh, drop down to 50mg?!

hi Ladies :)

i came back from my visit to my doc (following a check up from my polyp removal on January 9th) everything looks and is healthy ...tubes are opens , polyps is gone etc...bbut we decided that i should give a try to clomid for 3 month (and if no luck we will do IUI after that) so i starting clomid tonight CD4 :)...i am exited !
by the way i got my full prescription for the 3 month (15 pills) and i paid $19.75 ...i thought it was going to be expensive but it was not !!

That fab!!!! I have 3 months prescription as well and still have to get it..
FX this will work the first time around!!

Say does anyone know the success rate of Clomid on the first try?!

I cannot seem to find anything specifically about the first round of clomid, but found this:

https://www.sharedjourney.com/define/clomid.html

Clomid Success Rates
Ovualtion rates with Clomid are generally very good. Between 70% and 90% of women using Clomid will ovulate within the first three cycles. Although the pregnancy success rates of Clomid will vary according to a variety of factors, on average, about 40% of women will be able to successfully conceive within the first three months of using Clomid.

Thanks hun, well at least that percentage sure as hell beats the anovulatory cycle ;)

Well its good it isnt higher as i always seem to be defeating the odds (and not necessarily in a good way either haha :dohh:)

HA!!! Same here, that's why DH is convinced we will be in the <5 % that end up with multiples, mainly he's predicting triplets!!! (I wouldn't mind but his face drains of all color, even when joking about it  )

hahah Dh has twin sisters :) he says he wouldn't mind having two at once but wouldn't it be funny to actually see it happen, i think hell be petrified.. specially since we also have two very active dogs whahahahaha

2 is one thing but 3!> i think i would have a heart attack if i found out, im such a slim person.. hahahahaha (well was in that case )

LMAO Maybe we'll both have twins! HAHA Pregnant with twins til proven otherwise! Good luck Hon!

It's so nice to see lots of us at the same stage. I'm going for my follicular tracking scan at 7.55am tomorrow.... I'm so excited! It will be CD 10 so I'm not really sure what to expect.

My DH has been panicing for months about the idea of multiples, then out of the blue last week he said 'I'm getting quite used to the idea of having twins'!!! Bless him, I must have his head tortured talking about it lol

hi mrs R how did your scan go today? I started my first clomid tab today...I really hope it works.

Yeah curious what the results are :)

I finally got the meds from the pharmacy but havnt talked to doc yet, will probably call him next week to get the ok !

Finally get going with it all.. yaya

It didn't work ladies. I didn't respond to the clomid. Was absolutely devasted when doc told me. Actually he didn't even tell me it hadn't worked, just told me to ask for Provera once I got to CD 35.

I asked if that meant I wasn't going to ov and he said no. At first they couldn't even find one of my ovaries (thought I had left it at home lol). It had loads of follicles in it, they were all just much to small. So I have to have Provera on CD35 +, then start clomid 100mg when AF arrives.

I was so down yesterday that hubby booked us a week's holiday In Spain with our friends at Easter as my Valentine's present!! That made me feel much better!!

Although I'm so disappointed and disillusioned, I am hopeful for the next cycle. There's just a lot of waiting between now and then....

I cried for hours, and then had to go into work with a face like a tomato!!

 don't give up hope honey, it can take a few cycles for clomid to work properly :hugs: there is still hope :hugs:
It's now my second month and its just started having the right effect, last month it made no difference at all.

Oh mrs R I am sorry this cycle didnt work for you, I will keep my fingers crossed for the next cycle, as Farie said it can take a couple of cycles to get it to work probably.

I am waiting to af to arrive tomorrow, then can start my first round of clomid on Tuesday, although for some reason I not sure she will show tomorrow as my temps still havent gone down. If it doesnt show up until Tues I have to skip this cycle as my dh would be away when I am due to O  For the first time ever I want my af!!!

owww :hugs:

That sucks, hopefully the 100mg will work!
Did they change your days to take it or?

Maybe start one day later.. give more hormones to mature them a bit more.>>?

I have just started thr frst round of clomid. Day 4. Fingers crossed it works. I had been ttc for 21 months but the doc didn't listen to my concerns even tough I have only had 7 periods in that whole time and I mentioned I was getting positive poks all the time and even mentioned pcos!!! But nope - didnt listen. I miscarried at 6 wks in August which made the specialist turn me away for 6 months. I got diagnosed with pcos in December and had a follow up appointment with the specialist on 10th Feb where she prescribed me clomid. After a scan and bloodwork I was told to start straight away mid cycle.

I have thought about twins too! My mums a twin and my son was a twin - I lost the other baby at 12 weeks. DP isnt so keen on the idea - or wasnt at first seems to be mentioning it more now though! Who knows!

Fingers crossed ladies - keep updating as to how youre getting on! :hugs:

Hi there i have had my first round of clomid and my :witch: is due friday 20th Feb. I have had day 21 test to see if i ovulated and will get the results next week. Good luck to all of us....surely some of us will get our :bfp:. I am 42 and have been trying for almost 2 years.

Good luck Twinkel!

And Angelmarie, that is awefull they didnt even check you out from the beginning...
Hope you get some results soon, twins would be nice eventhough my DH freaked out a bit too haha, i think he will love it though if it were indeed to happen :)
