Ladies new to Clomid...

Could those that have experienced side effects from Clomid tell me how soon after taking there first tablet did the side effects occur?

Hi all

I'm also going through my first round of clomid (I took it day 2-6).

I'm now on CD21 and went for a scan this morning. They found that I have just ovulated! Now it's the hideous 2WW - Mind you, at least there is a 2WW (more often than not I've had no idea if I've ovulated at all so it's guess work for the whole time).

The nurse has asked me to go back on Friday morning to confirm ovulation has completed (to check whether the follicle shrinks properly and doesn't develop into a cyst). She said that it all looks good though - a good sized follicle and thick lining.

We've done all we can for this cycle so now it's just fingers crossed

I got a dull headache the morning after I took the first pill and felt a bit sick (I took them just before I went to bed). I had a couple of hot flushes over the next couple of days but it was nothing too hideous.

I am currently on Provera to bring AF down (my last visit from the witch was 9/7/08 ), after ttc for 18 months...I will be starting Clomid (I was prescribed 3 months / 50mg) 5 days after AF arrives, (I am hoping sometime next week)...I am excited and have a mix of emotions, I hope this month is my month, and I glad to have found this thread

Well i'm on CD1 and i will taking 100mg of clomid from CD 5-9!! I was originally prescribed 50mg of clomid and found out i was not ovulating, but now being on 100mg i'am ovulating!! woo hoo!! Just gotta catch that sticky bean!! Lots and lots of for everyone!!! xoxo

good luck hun! Like u, I didn't respond to 50mg and Im now waiting to take Provera to bring on AF.

Next cycle it 100mg for me too. Fingers crossed for us.

finally the :witch; arrived and i can start Clomid tomorrow..
ive already had some hot flushed and mood swings on Provera (to bring on AF) so i hope Clomid wont be much worse

I however do not have to come in to track the follicles?! Just a day 21 blood test, is that normaL?

Its 9 days since I took my last one... but I was told to take them mid cycle... I have never heard anyone else on here say that they were told this... Just hoping it will be ok!!!

But yeh youre right about - if we arent the only ones being told no scan - should be fine

i posted this in my journal ...so i am pasting here too

back in november when i did my 21 days test progesterone i had a level of 11.9 ( so i did ovulated ) i heard that when they put you on clomid they like to see a level above 15...since me CD21 is on saturday i am going to try to get a blood test to see if clomid made a diference for me...

what you think ? doesn't hurt to check ?

Hi Laetitia,

Actually, you already had a normal progesterone before which tells me your already ovulate on your own w/o Clomid. It will not give us any added information and is another poke that you don't need. Best of luck this cycle!

I've been told just to have a day 21 blood test on my first round of Clomid too. Then, on the second cycle I should make an appointment to have a scan I think (but I was a little confused and he's asked me to call him after my first cycle to check in so i'll confirm that then). cant wait for AF to come along and so I can start it

Yeh I guess it just must be different in different places... I was given two months supply of clomid... told to come back for cd21 bloodwork then if Im not pg after 3 cycles to go back so they could check my tubes...

God nothings straight forward!

well afternoon ladies, im on cd 31 did a test yesterday as have been feeling like crap ( dizzy, nauseus, back pain ) but bfn!! no sign of af yet wish she would hurry up if she is coming so i can get with cycle 2 of clomid!!!!!! im soooooo fed up at the mo just waiting!!

Hi girls,

I've lost track of what cycle day Im on because I'm so fed up waiting! When u don't ov on clomid, it takes forever for the next cycle to come around as in my clininc, they make you wait til CD 35 before starting Provera. That's still another 2 weeks away for me. ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.... Im sure most of you know how I feel!!

I hope I can join this thread. I'm waiting for AF to arrive before I can start my clomid. I'll be taking 50mg on days 2-6. Hopefully if AF doesn't arrive soon, Dr. will put me on provera again.

Oh, guess I should explain further. DH and I have been TTC'ing for about six months. (I know shorter then alot fo you). DH goes in next weekend for an SA and I'll hopefully be starting clomid around the same time. Our Dr. is doing these tests early because 1) of DH's age and 2) My body seems to be having a hard time adjusting itself after I stopped my BCP, which I was on for ten years.

Anyway, for you girls who have been on clomid before. can you answer a few questions for me?

1) What's the difference, in results, between EPO (evening primrose oil) and Robitussin? Does one provide more CM, while the other more fertile CM?

2) I've heard clomid can dry CM up. I'm already taking EPO and have noticed a BIG change in the amount of CM, but to be on the safe side, should I be taking robitussin as well?

3) I've heard there's different "kinds" of robitussin, which one should I be taking?

4) How much robitussin a day do you take?

5) Any other advice for someone just starting clomid??

Hey i just wanted to let you girls know that my gyno for the last 2months has been telling me to go for my CD21 blood test to see if i've ovulated and the last 2 months its been coming up that i haven't. Last month i started using OPK and realized on CD23 that i had ovulated according to the OPK..So i called my gyno and told her about this and told her i had gone for my CD21 blood work but i ended up ovulating on CD23 and she said that you can either take it on the 21st or the 24th..I was like what the heck so maybe the last 2months i really have been ovulating but just not before CD 21...So i just wanted to share this with you all that are going for CD21 blood work and the results coming back as you have not ovulated..So I'm on CD 4 now and i will be taking my clomid from days 5-9 and i will also be using my OPK and taking the blood test on CD24 instead of CD21 and i will wait and see what comes up..But i really do think it will come back as i did ovulate!!!
