Ladies with iCandy.....

Did you buy a mattress for the carry cot or use the one that comes with it? If you did buy a new mattress was it a moses one or a pram mattress?

I'll be using the one that came with my Peach - but won't be using it for overnight sleeping.

The lady in John Lewis did mention something about a mattress but I can't for the life of me remember what she actually said!! I'm gonna post on their FB page and ask iCandy themselves - I'll let you know if I hear back hun.

I am a bit confused about this too. Do far I have used the mattress that comes with it, however was told an read the guidelines and it says for overnight sleeping you need another mattress. When I got the supplier to call up iCandy to find out what they exactly recommend, they said they recommend non for overnight sleeping?!? I still love my pram and I am glad I got it, and luckily we didn't buy it for overnight sleeping but this has annoye me! Have you received any advice from any suppliers or such?! Also what iCandy have you got, we have the apple and cannot wait to use it

Is the carrycot suitable for overnight sleeping?

We recommend that the Apple and Cherry carrycots are only used for occasional overnight sleeping and not as a substitute moses basket. The carrycots should be used in conjunction with a breathable mattress (sold separately). The Pear carrycots are not suitable for overnight use. The iCandy Peach Carrycots (main, upper and lower) can be used for overnight sleeping.

So it depends on which one you have - mine is a Peach so am ok

I have the peach and will just be using the mattress that came with it, but then we won't be using it for overnight sleeping. For me it doesn't seem right to let baby sleep in the carricot that long, a Moses basket is much airier.

I have an apple and just used the mattress that came with it. We had a Moses basket so had no need to put my son in it overnight xx

I've got the iCandy Cherry and for my dd used the mattress that came with the carrycot. To be honest though my dd did spend rather a lot of time sleeping in it with occasional overnight use and if I had known then that the mattress wasn't suitable for this then I would have bought one.

You can order the mattress for whatever type of pram you have and it comes made to measure. It arrived last week and seems a lot cosier than the original iCandy one so really pleased with it.
