laparoscopy nov 2012- anyone else and wanna buddy up?

i think for the pre op thats what they should do, just do it over the phone. But hey ho as long as it gets me closer to the op i dont mind :)

yeah! as long as you get somewhere, I guess it's worth it

Less than two weeks for me now, until my actual op! AAAAHHHHH!!

eeeek i bet you are very excited hun

I got my letters through today confirming the date and times. First one is at 1pm and the actual op is at 8am in the morning. I just want it to hurry up now too :)

Hi everyone was hoping I could buddy up too?? I had my lap in march after 2 yrs of ttc, consultant partially unblocked my tubes and said I would need another one:( however hey presto 2 months later I got my very first bfp !! Sadly though I miscarried at 6 weeks. So now I'm bk in the waiting game, had 3 months to try again, now waiting for my next lap in nov. I do truly believe that my bfp was due to my lap so fingers crossed for everyone !! X

hi everyone, i'd like to join in because i'm just a bit further down the process and would love to know how the next few months go for you ladies.

i had an ectopic earlier this year having not even realised that i was pregnant and was absolutely gutted to find out that i was pregnant and then end the pregnancy all in the same day ;(

i also have endometriosis and my body just went a bit whack after the ectopic so the doctors put me on zoladex which suppresses estrogen and i've basically got a chemically induced menopause (for the second time). i'm so fed up of the drugs now!!! i have about 2 more months on it and the Gynae want to see in february when they will book me in for a lap.. i'm fed up of ending up in the emergency room, i am fed up of filling my body with hormones, i am fed up of feeling grouchy and nauseous and miserable. on my last E.R. trip and also my last nurse's appointment it was hinted that i should request they fast track to my lap because i am struggling far too much.

ugh! I've had a laparotomy before (not key hole surgery but the one where they actually properly cut you open) and i'm finding it hard to ASK for more surgery :(

so ladies, positive positive positive!!! you are all going to go off and get sorted and inspire me to hand myself over to the nhs :)

nlk i hope all goes well next week

Hey all! I all so had my Lap in apirl and yes it was so good to have answers to what the problem was! However am going back for another in a few weeks. They found at my last lap I had blocked tubes and I would need them clipped before I can start my ivf treatment! Hope all goes well for all u girls awaiting your appts! It is a scary process as with ant type of surgery but Defo worth it! And recovery ain't all that bad :hugs:

Hi girls,

i just wanted to share my story because I had a hysteroscpy to remove a polyp and a lap at the same time. The lap was done to make sure my second tube was open because the dye didn't flow through in my HSG. The DR discovered Endo and scar tissue during my lap and removed it all as well.

Here is a link to my thread and it goes into detail about the surgery, the outcome and I have pictures from the surgery as well. Other ladies shared their stories with me about their experiences also so it is full of good info.

Check it out...

Good luck to all of you girls that have the surgery upcoming!! :flower:

Faith I'm really sort for your loss. it does sound encouraging that the lap was helpful in getting you your bfp. when in nov is your 2nd? maybe we will get bf's before chrsitmas then!!!

god shannon, sounds horrendous for you, but you are right! positive positive positive! I've been so down with the ttc journey but you are right, getting down doesn't get u anywhere. we can all keep each others spirits up!

thanks wanna be preg, I'm gonna have a proper stalk through that now!!

so for all of you with endo/blocked tubes etc, did u have symptoms before your laps of this? I've got no symptoms at all, and FS said i could have hsg or lap, but if hsg was normal they may do lap anyway, so i thought lets just crack on with that then. i dunno if i wd rather have something like endo or for it to be unexplained really!

Am so glad i found this forum it has helped me so much with my lttc - I got my symptoms way back when i was about 17/18 was told then i may have trouble ttc but at that age i didn't really think much of it however i was having reg cycles ect so nothing was thought much of it.... started ttc about 19/20 and just kept trying hoping to prove nhs wrong!! at the age of 25 that's when i finally went to the doctors as nothing was happening went for all my bloods and tests ect finally alll came back normal so they referred me straight on to my lap.

Some people will experiences symptoms others don't and sometimes if the tube/s are blocked they can unblock them :hugs:

I'm a bit concerned, because my FS said that I was going to have my tubes checked, because he thought they might be blocked...but I haven't had a HSG? I'm only getting the laproscopy...I seem to remember him mentioning a HSG, but I only ever got this lap...can they still just check my tubes from that? Or should I have had the HSG first?

:hi: nlk :) i only got the lap that showed my blocked tubes

soory i have just looked back at my letter and yes i did have lap hsg but they didnt mention hsg when it was ever spoke about and am pretty sure if u are going for a lap to detect infertility then am all most sure they will do hsg :)

ahhhh thanks hun! I just figured that my own FS would have done the HSG before now. Didn't think that they might just do it all at once. I didn't think it would work like that!

Yeah just while i was looking back on my letter it did say lap hyro h and got the dye thru my tubes as well to try unblock them!

Hi, im waiting for my lap appointment to come through, I have suspected endo, cycles 35-75 days and very heavy and painful, have a cyst on ovary which makes consultant think endo
Ive also got a polyp so having hysteroscopy at same time as lap and also hsg

nlk - They will more than likely do the hsg at same time as the lap which is what they normally do if you havent had hsg yet but going straight to the lap, thats what my consultant said as endo can only be diagnosed with lap they will do the hsg and hysteroscopy at the same time, i'm actually looking forward to it, well, looking forward to getting some answers!

ive got my follow up appointment on the 28/12 so hope appointment for lap comes through soon other wise will have to change that!

Good luck everyone xx

good luck to u as well :) am just waiting for a date for my next one... :dohh: it is really good to get some answers too X

oh thats good, i didnt realise they did hsg as well during lap.

I'm looking forward to it too, at least you know then, one way or the other!

x

Hi, klemoncake, I'm blk to see consultant on the 22nd of oct to arrange a date for lap, my last one was within 2 weeks so keeping my fingers crossed I won't have to wait this time.

Nik.. I would ask for a hsg test first, mine was painful but only lasts about 10 mins and ur done, must less invasive than surgery!! I would of thought u would of had one first to confirm blocked tubes x

they seem to think I'm likely to have endometriosis, and that my tubes are blocked...I remember him mentioning one, but I thought it would all be done at once? Should I give them a call in the morning, and see whether I can get one before the lap? Do you normally have to wait for them to fit you in...because I only have a week before my lap!

Hi, maybe u could call them to check they are doing the hsg at the same time? As they suspect endo I would of thought they would the hsg then at the same time as have to do a lap anyway, saves going in twice and probably easier for them too as you only need one appointment? Xx
