laparoscopy nov 2012- anyone else and wanna buddy up?

For anyone who wants to see, I thought I would post a pic of my stitches! This was taken 4/5 days post lap. The one on my belly button is the biggest, but I tried to take a pic where you can see both  I've just taken the dressings off of them, and I'm going to try and leave them off now. My stomach looks a funny colour in the second pic, but it's just a bit bruised!Hopefully they won't catch on clothing or anything, though!

Good luck to everyone else with their laps! You'll all be fine!

ouch ur belly button one looks sore! my belly button one was cut diff right enough. Am starting to feel nervous for my next one :(

It's not that bad  I think it looks redder and a bit worse because I've just uncovered it for the first time...it tugs a bit when I move, but that's all

Awww don't be nervous hun, it's ok! Just remember your polos :haha:

hehe yeah i will this time  am just unsure what exactly there going to do as he said it will be a bit difficult taken the tubes out with just key hole... so i dont have a clue what to expect

ahh ok...wel that's understandable. Is it better to have them completely removed, rather than just clipped, then? Because I'm sure if there is little difference, then you could just opt to have them clipped instead?

I would but it is better them being removed as they cause pain too

I just had my laparoscopy 2 weeks ago to remove some big endometrial cysts on my ovaries as well as some minor endometriosis behind my uterus. This was my second lap, so I was considerably less nervous.

My doctor claimed the surgery was a great success and is much more optimistic now about my chances of getting a BFP within the next six months. Before she had opened me up and actually seen what was going on in there, she had been concerned that with the size of the cysts, she'd have to suggest IVF as my only option. Afterwards, she was happy to tell me my tubes were completely normal, ovaries were mobile, not a lot of scar tissue, and I seem to be ovulating normally.

Feeling so relieved and not regretting having the procedure at all! Recovery was easy, I had four incisions, all of which were closed with glue like stuff and those little surgical bandaid strips instead of stitches. Motrin was sufficient the first two days, and after that I didn't need any pain medicine at all.

Now to get started TTCing again! Good luck to all you, I hope your procedure goes as smoothly as mine did.
