Help

Isobelle isnt latching on properly (8 days old)
We started in the across tummy position and i became very sore and was about to start bleeding I went to the local midwife support group who suggested I use the underarm/rugby hold which is lots better for me once i know im not about to drop her! but i still think shes not taking enough breast in when sucking.
It is more than just my nipple but not as much as I keep getting told needs to be in her mouth, its not hurting me but im scared it will soon if its not right
When i do manage to get a good mouthfull in there its like its scares her and she pulls back a bit back to her comfort zone so to speak, i do break and re-attach but the same thing happens then i get to the point where she is getting upset and thats making me upset as well
I really want to master this as i do not want to use formula and want to hold off expressing for as long as possible

Any help or hints would really be helpful
Thanks

It's early days hun. You are doing really well already. Just give yourselfs time. You cant expect to learn everything in a week. You are BOTH learning. I posted yesterday on here about getting a good mouth full of breast....I'll get teh link so you can read. Youare doing the rgith thing breaking her latch and trying again. Also bear in mind that yor nipples will need to egt used to her powerful suck and toughen up a bit. If you can grit your teeth and bear it, then it will start to improve quite quickly. :)

BRB with the link ;)
