Help! Madis birthday before Christmas and iv decided i'm gunna get her a leappad. But i have no idea which...
<3

Are there really much differences. Im so stuck.

What are these Karlilay? I've seen them mentioned on here, but not ever seen or heard of them!?

Leappad 2 is meant to be MUCH better hun - it has twice the memory and the processor (or whatever it's called lol) works much faster plus it has 2 cameras front and back - not sure if the original had these. I read that there were loads of complaints about the leap pad 1 for running too slow. I've ordered JJ the leap pad 2 for Christmas waiting for it to be delivered.

We've bought Lizzie a leap pad 2, and it looks amazing!

Just had a look, they look great! With that tesco £15 off it doesn't work out being a lot more expensive than the leappad?

Do you know anyone who works for tesco?? If you use their card you can get an extra 10% off?

Ohhh can i take the £15 off and still get a 10% discount. My friend works there. :)

Don't count me on it, but I've done it with clothing before. Only thing is, you won't get the points as its done via a staff club card...

Worth putting through checkout to check anyway :D

After MUCH research in these and the innotabs we've decided on the leappead 2 :)

For anyone getting these - the Leap Pad (and 2) comes with absolutely NOTHING. I was talking to the guy in Smyths yesterday asking does it come with a power cable etc and he said they don't come with anything at all. So bear in mind that you'll probably need to get an adaptor for it (seemingly it eats batteries), a case, headphones etc as well as any game cartridges.

It's not all bad news - I was reading online last night that it's just an AC adaptor needed so most of us will have one of those from other things and can use that. Also the headphone jack is supposed to be normal sized so could use any cheap/normal headphones and not have to buy the Leap Pad ones - I'm going to try get the Leap Pad ones though as he has no headphones whatsoever and he can then use them for his DS and anything else too.

Rechargeable batteries might be a good idea too if it does eat batteries.

Yeah, we're investing in the power cable, rechargable batteries( and charger for those)
:dohh: LO better like it :haha:

I bought LO's from Argos it was £93 for leappad2 and the headphones  also download cards with £15 on are only £10 on Amazon

Argos in Ireland doesn't have either for sale - they're so useless on this side of the water lol.

I'm really excited because JJ's Leap Pad 2 and the Jake game got delivered this morning. Can't wait to open it up and play with it oops I mean set it up with his name and photo lol:xmas13:

Are they worth it if you have an iPad? Alex is an Apple geek. I just don't want to spend the money on it if its basically going to be the same

Does Alex have her own Ipad? If so I really wouldn't bother as to me it's kind of going backwards - the Ipad is much more sophisticated and grown up and the Leap Pad is more or less a toy version of it - IMO anyway. I'm getting JJ's partly to keep him away from my Iphone which he has this constant attraction to so if the Ipad is yours and you'd rather she not use it then go for the Leap Pad xxx

The iPad was mine once upon a time  She has a 3GS and I guess the iPad was bought with her in mind more than I, so i guess its hers  , so I think you are right, it could be going backwards when she is pretty advanced with her i-skills

Oh no don't say that! We have an iPad too. Maybe my idea for a DS was a better one. She will be 4:)

I like the idea that its something different tbh, but I think we need to stick to the iPad because of the update thats coming (Guided Access)
