Ladies,

I wonder if anyone can help me. I am struggling with getting my head around my maternity leave situation. I have just started to try and work things out. It was easier last time around as I was full time.

Now, I am an employee working 4 days a week (30 hours). How do I work out my date to return to work? I am entitled to 39 weeks paid maternity leave (I know that much). What's confusing me is, as I only work 4 days a week and not 5, what impact does that have on my time off? Surely I can't accrue another 39 days (the 1 day a week I normally wouldn't work) whilst on maternity leave? Or do the 39 days get added on (in weeks) to my leave? Or have I got it all completely wrong?!

I'm finding it hard to explain what I mean, but hopefully someone may pick it up.

Thank you.

HI

I also work 4 days a week and as I understand it you get 39 of your weeks, i.e 39, 4 day weeks! Dont forget you also accrue annual leave and public holidays whilst on maternity leave.

Hi

You only get 39 weeks weeks regardless of how many days you work per week. So it doesnt matter if you work two days a week or 5 days a week you are only entitled to 39 weeks (You are actually entitled to 52 weeks off but only 39 weeks are paid)

Hope that helps Xx

I got you. Thanks ladies. I was thinking about it the wrong way! :)
