Hi all,

I've been taken B complex vits and Agnus Castus in an attempt to lengthen my luteal phase - which seems to have worked. I oved on 12 instead of 14/15, and am now 12 dpo - which is great considering my usual lp is 11 days.

However.... the downside.... I'm driving myself slightly crazy now..... I'm trying to hard to convince myself that the longer lp is down to the vits and not any other reason.... but it's so hard and I think arrival of af is going to be really really really hard to deal with this cycle.

Anyone else tried b vits to lenghten luteal phase? How many days did you manage to lengthen it by the 1st cycle you took them?

Oh, and I should mention I had my hsg on day 6 of this cycle - so there's another reason to get my hopes up.... and undoubtedly dashed......

Sorry for the whinge, feeling a bit sorry for myself!

Hi Jan35, I started taking B vit complex last cycle starting from the day after O (I know, strange, should have started on CD1 - misunderstanding on my part!!). My usual cycle length is 25 days. I O'd on CD14 and lengthened my LP by 2 days. I am now on my 2nd cycle taking the B vit complex and am using OPKs to determine if I will O any earlier this cycle.
I think it's really hard not to let anything and everything mess with your mind in the run up to AF, but I am learning that if I don't get my hopes up I can't be disappointed - sad but its what get me through!!!
Really hope you get your BFP soon!

Hi Petal,
Blimey, you and I sound similar. We've been trying the same length of time, my average cycle length is also 25 days. I know exactly what you mean about not getting hopes up - that's my intention every month but it doesn't always work out like that, if you know what I mean.:dohh:
How long was your luteal phase before the vits? If my maths is right, you lenghthened it from 9 to 11?
I can't get OPKs to work so have to rely on temping... bit of a pain but it'll be worth it.
Thanks for your reply.

I took B-50 and it lengthened my LP from 11/12 days to 14/15 days. Went crazy the first month too - didn't expect it to lengthen by 3 days on only B-50!

temp dipped today, so I can safely say that AF will be here today or tomorrow am latest.:hissy: Still, looking on the bright side, 13dpo so lp extended by at least 2 days. i guess that's a

Not to give anyone false hope about temp dips, but I found this interesting:

Well, wouldn't that be nice. I didn't even bother testing this am when I saw the temp dip. Won't get my hopes up tho!

yeah, pretty similar - except I don't temp!
Before the vits my LP was 10 days and is now 12 days. TBH I was very surprised it actually had an effect pretty much straight away but I will def keep going with it as I also felt like it eased some of my PMT symptoms esp the sore boobs.
Have you been to your GP for any tests etc?? I am currently waiting for a referral letter to the ACU at my local hospital since my GP said he could refer me there since we have been TTC for over a yr with regular cycles and CD21 bloods and SA came back fine.

Hi Petal.

I went to my GP very early on (6 months ish) due to inabilty to get a positive on OPKs. Had blood tests done then, 2 good and 2 bad although in hindsight think I just hadn't oved yet as they were long cycles. Hubbie also had SA done which was fine. Was referred to Fertilty Clinic in Sept, 1st appt Nov, since had hsg and scan done - both normal - and go back to finally see the consultant in March. I would recomend you phone up and chase appts all the way though - my HSG took ages to come through, so in the end I phoned and asked where it was, and despite what the consultant's sec told me, it was pretty clear when I got my letter (from the dates) that I hadn't even been referred until I chased. Same thing with my follow up. i called and asked when it would be seeing as I had had appts booked for ages for HSG and scan, but no follow up had come thru, and it was suddenly sorted.
