I'm wondering if there are any other lesbians out there who are TTC? My partner and I are about to move on from IUI to IVF and It would be good to hear of other people's experiences.

Hey .. good luck on ttc!
i can't reli relate to what ur going through but my sister (i dnt reli get along with her) is a lesbian and has mentioned that her and her partner whom i dislike what to ttc, i mainly think its because of me but they have been together for like a month ... i was just wondering how it kinda works with regards to birth certificate and that can u have a girls name dwn under paternity or does it not work like that

yes you can both have your name on the birth certificate if you are in a civil partnership and using an anonymous donor.

My Sister in Law and her OH are looking into adoption as they thought about having one through a donor but thought there were too many other kids needing mummies!

Hi - I don't have any advice on mums but my two male friends have just brought home twins from America. They used a surrogate (obviously) but did not use the surrogate's eggs....they used an egg donor and used on of the partners sperm. They were lucky first time and are so happy and great Dads. Best of luck on your journey, you are in the right place for advice and support!

Hi there!,

lots of luck to you and your OH with getting your BFP! Don't know a great deal about IVF, except brace yourself for twins or triplets! Some friends were lucky enough to fall pregnant with their little girl with 'donor sperm', although it took 5 cycles/attempts (is that what is classed as IUI?).

There is a very informative weblog (or, series of weblogs) written by a couple who have conceived a daughter through sperm donation.

I do not comment on the blog itself but I do enjoy reading about their little girl. She is beautiful. I am not sure about the names on the birth certificate but I did find their journey rather fascinating.

I think there are links to a lot of other blogs on that particular one, too. I am sure you can find out alot from them.
