Let the August Babies Be Born!

I haven't even reached due date and I'm already feeling impatient and wishing to see a labour sign! With both my previous pregnancies going a few days over due I know I am not being very realistic hoping for something to happen sooner... How does time slow down soooooo much in these last couple of weeks??!?!?!

I had DD on her due date so I've got zero experience with going overdue, dreading it!

I didn't really have many signs with DD apart from irregular contractions the day before & losing my plug the morning I had her.

Now I swear everything has become a sign! One minute I'm desperate to go in to labour, the next minute I'm enjoying the freedom of only having one (mostly) well behaved child to look after 🙈🙈

You can't search the watermelons group as it's private.

I'm a member, you can add me aa a friend and I'll add you to the group if that's easier? I don't mind if you then want to de-friend me.

Just wanted to update: I began having contractions in the morning on August 17th. By 5 PM they were so bad I could hardly walk. We got to the hospital at about 6:30 pm and I had to be wheeled up to the birth center. My baby girl was born at 9:08 pm that day. She was my third all natural, medication free birth.

I'm doing well, still having some issues with SPD at the moment and had excessive bleeding for a few hours after the birth. They had to put me on pitocin for a little while to get my uterus to contract to slow down the bleeding. I was bleeding through a heavy hospital pad within an hour. The bleeding did eventually slow down to like a period and I was sent home yesterday.

Congratulations huni. Just read your birth story sounds like it was very quick really. 8lbs at 39 weeks though, wow imagine if she came late. X

babyboy, massive congratulations on the arrival of the new one, post pics when you get time and take good care of yourself.

Suze12, yes its only 3 more days, although I hope that are babies will have no breathing issues etc as they are full term. I have a general check-up on Monday, will let you know all the instructions I get etc.
Good luck for Monday, yes let me know how it goes. When I asked if they go would be fully developed at 38 weeks my consultant turned and said "we are going this early to keep you safe" didn't exactly reassure Me! Xxx

Congrats to the girls who have recently given birth 😘

Congratulations misscaviar 😊

I'm just off to triage in a bit when we can get a car (arrrgghh!!) because she hasn't moved in quite a long while & I feel like something isn't right. Typical i've had no issues so far and with 8 days to go she worries me!!

Glad to hear you had your baby xxx congratulations! I've been really low this evening but I think it's hormonal as I got like this in previous pregnancies. I'm a little irritated that my husband has been put on a single cover shift tomorrow when his boss knows I'll be 39+2 and my other 2 came at 40+1 and 39+6 so entirely possible I could go into Labour. My last labour was 4 hours and its a 6 hour shift. I'm further irritated that he didn't bring it up and get it swapped as it feels unreasonable that he expects me to be ok with it. I think the problem is I don't make much of a fuss about pregnancy and labour so he doesn't take it seriously enough. :(

congrats lilmisscaviar on your baby girl, she is adorable- touchwood

Well I've just rearranged the dining room (granted it's only small), feel better now. Damn nesting instinct. I am getting tetchy now. This far along last time my son had been in the world for 5 whole weeks! So DS2 has been cooked for 5 weeks longer....you can come out now lol.

I see the day unit and consultant on Tuesday, 40weeks tomo, so hopefully they will give me a timeline.

I also keep thinking something awful is going to happen so I'd rather he's just here now.

Plus fed up already at all the "is he here yet questions"!!!

Sorry for the random post x congratulations to the new mums....come on the rest of us x

I'm the same! I keep getting my whole house tidy, then thinking come on baby please come when my house is tidy hahaha! My house gets messy within a couple of hours so it'll be typical for me to go into labour when the house is a tip!
I know it's so annoying people saying "come on baby" ect.
My parents go on holiday on the 27th for two weeks so they're really wanting her to come before they go!

I have had awful back pain the last 24 hours along with intermittent cramping & tightenings. I hardly got any sleep last night & can see tonight following a similar theme 😔

Tried paracetamol & a bath but to no avail. I'm currently typing this led over my birthing ball as it's the only thing that provides a bit of relief.

I just wish I could know it was all doing some good in terms of progression. Just feeling a bit sorry for myself!

Sounds promising for you though cazran. I'm very jealous of all these ladies going before their due date. I'm due on Tuesday but I know she's going to be late.
I've had some EWCM tonight soon after having it I had horrible backache and period pains so I got moving, cleaning the kitchen but nothing, the pains are there when I walk but nothing when I lie down. Also DTD in the hope it might help things along a little. I'm not hopeful.
I hope the ball helps ease some pain for you. Obviously if they continue you should call up and go get checked out. X

Back has eased off a bit, same as yesterday. Going to do some serious hoovering today to try & get things moving!
On the advice of my mother in law I've moved my mattress around & it's helped with my leg cramps so much, still getting them but nowhere near as bad,
I even felt energised enough to cook a roast last night! x
