Stupid question... can I give my one year old lettuce??? :dohh: I'm afraid it'll stick to her throat and make her choke??? I wasn't going to give her iceberg, but more of a romaine style lettuce??

I need ideas... peas are getting boring!

Yes you can give your child lettuce. Erin quite likes the odd bit of salad here and there.

Although it might cause irritation if it stuck to her mouth it would be unlikely to cause choking, something needs to get lodged in a childs windpipe to cause choking, lettuce would probably get coughed straight back up again so don't worry.

Have you tried other green veg like broccoli or beans instead of peas? Cucumber sticks are good also.

Finn tried Lettuce the other day. He couldn't really eat it properly but had a good chew and seemed to really enjoy it

I found anything that needed teeth (lettuce, skins off fruits, sausages and bacon etc) would stick to the roof of his mouth. He wouldn't choke but it really irritated him and he often got upset. He's fine now he's got a few teeth to rip it lol.

after they turn 1 you can literally give them anything hun!
