Lochia

I'm too prepared for the worst.. I've got loads of maternity towels. I'm thinking of buying them disposable maternity knickers in Tesco for when I just give birth in hospital. I hope they work & don't leak everywhere. I don't like towels.. I prefer tampons.. Oh geeze It's been along time since I've had a period now.. lol.. The joys.

Mine was soooo not that bad. I bled heavily for the first couple of days, but by the time I went home I could wear regular pads & never bled through. After the first week I just got spotting, and at 2.5 weeks it went away. I got my first period back at 5 weeks.

i was cut badly and for the whole time i was in the delivery room (about 16 hours after deliver) i couldnt actually wear pads cos i had a catheter in so i just had to lay on the bed padsthey had then when i went on the ward i had a thick pad and laid on the pads they had again mainly just cos of catheter i couldnt get up often to change the pads but i only really bled quite heavy for a couple of weeks then just like a normal/light period for a further 4 weeks, it is honestly not as bad as you think i actually quite like having the excuse to wear really thick pads lol.

I had my LO at 23:27 and had really bad bleeding until I had my bath (they usually make you have a bath or a shower) at 9am the next day. I had him on the 9th and got out on 11th and it was REALLY light, that light to where a panty liner or even tissue would do. It was so light that I was able to DTD 9 days later (although my stitches were rather sore!). It had completely stopped after around 2 weeks then my normal period return 9 weeks after :).

Everyone is different as my mum bleed really bad with all 4 of her kids so I guess I was a lucky one :)

:saywhat:

Maybe this sounds dumb.. I know you bleed after giving birth, that makes sense but uh... the thought had totally slipped my mind because I'm so excited about all the good stuff

I HATE PADS I've worn tampons since day 2 of my first period when I was like this is NOT working for me, I feel like I'm wearing a diaper and that I can't go out in public :nope:

When will I be allowed tampons again?? I'll not last long with pads lol.. I'll start wearing pull ups or something.. pads move way too much and I feel yucky wearing them

I think once you have your first proper period, but don't quote me on that!
It's because of the risk of infection. x
