I just had my son almost 2 months ago, and while I'm EBFing him, I still have ten more pounds of baby weight to lose, and about 30 more of vanity weight :)

Are there any other moms out there that are breastfeeding and know of a support group? I find I do better when I have someone else to hold me accountable. I just ate half a box of chocolates-something's gotta give. Having no time to cook and being hungry all the time is a dangerous combination.

Hi. I'm breastfeeding DD who is 8 months old. I have about 20lbs to loose and a wobbley belly. I've lost 10lbs so far but I'm struggling to keep at it.

That's awesome you've already lost ten pounds! I'm just having a hard time knowing how to diet and breastfeed. I know it burns around an extra 500 cals a day, but then with a new baby to care for I don't really have time to keep track of calories all day, so I just try to eat when I'm hungry and eat something besides cookies lol. But I can't tell if I'm going about it all the right way I guess.

Anyone have any tips for tracking food and balancing a hectic day?

I highly reccomend my fitness pal. So easy. You can scan the barcodes of the foods you eat.
I reduced my calories to 1600. My fitness pal suggests 1200 but for the sake of breastfeeding I changed it too 1600. I read on kellymom I think that 1500/1800 is a safe amount.
I've been making up bean salads. And it keeps in the fridge for about 3/4 days. That's my quick lunch. I pile some onto a ryvita crispbread and eat away. I have smoothies for breakfast. I find its a good way to get a filling breakfast and them extra veggies in and I can drink it while I get on with whatever.

I don't buy chocolate / cookies or any junk anymore. Instead I get rice cakes, and nuts. We generally have a bowl of some fruit chopped in the fridge, every time I open the fridge I see it and grab a hand full.

We walk lots since we dont have a car and most days I we're baby in a wrap.

I hope that helps some. Remember to take it easy. Its a slow process and your baby's only young.

We live in the boonies, so we got rid of our smartphone this past year lol! I did used to use calorie counter when we lived in the city though, and have since started using the web version, fatsecret, but it doesn't really look like there are any active breastfeeding weightloss groups there.

Who knows, maybe I should just break down and start one up myself? I'll post a link here if I do.

That's around what I put myself at-1700 calories a day (although I admit I'm bad about keeping track). We eat pretty paleo around here, so there's very little processed carbs, but my husband has a sweet tooth so I keep homemade baked goods around 24/7. I've been trying to keep healthy alternatives for myself around, but it's hard to find time to bake on dessert, let alone two! I think I really just need to start keeping better track so I can see what I'm actually getting every day.

Hello! I'm a BFing mama working on losing weight. I started Jan. 27 and am almost to 20 pounds! I use my fitness app and do 1500 calories.

I was going to wait until I was totally done with Bfing to try and lose weight but I really needed to start sooner.

I honestly think cutting calories probably has effected my supply but since my LO is just a few weeks away from turning 1 and I wanted to stop nursing at 1, I've continued on with it anyway.

One "trick" I use for BFing and weight loss is eating oatmeal for breakfast every day, with a teaspoon of (low cal) butter and a teaspoon of sugar. It's 180 calories, filling, and oatmeal boosts milk supply! My picky daughter loves oatmeal though lol, so I have to fight her off every time I eat my breakfast, no matter how much of her breakfast she has had! :haha:
