Hi Girls!

I am new to the website but not new to TTCing. A little back story, My husband and I have been TTC on and off since Feb of 2009. We had a couple of breaks throughout because of deployments. The last two months we have been hitting it pretty hard and this is my first cycle on Clomid. I don't temp because I tend to forget to do it however, I do use OPKs and check CM. Currently I am on CD 17 but have not gotten a positive OPK, last month I got my first positive on CD 17 so I am hoping I get one soon. This month I have also had an HSG and all the blood work and DH had his SA everything looks normal so far which means we have unexplained infertility. I'm just looking for some support as it has been a long road but I am trying to stay positive. If any of you ladies want to be cycle buddies let me know. Also if you've been trying for awhile maybe we can use this forum to vent, I really just need someone to talk to. Thanks in advance!

Hi!

I'd love to be cycle buddies - haven't been at this as long as you (in our 10th cycle) but it sure seems like it's been forever. I waited a year before my OH was on board before we started TTC.

I'm only on CD8 today, but I should O on CD13 (will use OPK's this cycle - I gave up on temping). So this Saturday is O day.

I don't get any EWCM, so if you or anyone else wants to chime in on some tips, that would be greatly appreciated :) We've used Preseed in the past (bought Conceive Plus for this cycle) and softcups for after. I've tried drinking green tea and EPO. But nothing seems to work. I already drink TONS of water.

10 cycles is still a long time, it's upsetting that we spend so much time on BCPs to try and avoid pregnancy and when we want it to happen it just doesn't.
As far as EWCM water is very important so you have a good start. I'm taking clomid this month and a lot of women say it drys them up but I haven't had that issue. I've been drinking a lot of water like 5 bottles or more a day and taking 1 mucinex pill a day which I started on CD 10 after my last clomid.

Oh ya, I heard about mucinex but decided against using it because I read it can really only help you if you already have EWCM present. Which I don't. But maybe next cycle...hopefully won't have to though!

Have you cut back on anything like coffee or drinking? I'm really on the fence about those things. I have definitely scaled back (more for health reasons) but I can't imagine not drinking either on the "chance" that I could be pregnant.

What are your thoughts on them?

I actually have never been a huge coffee drinker so that's not an issue however, I had to cut down on soda. I have quit drinking for the most part when I get my period is when I usually drink. I also decided to quit smoking a couple months ago so I really cut back on drinking because of that. Usually when I drink I want to smoke.

Hello:hi:
Not quite as experienced as you gals, I am 35 and hubby 44 in cycle 7 for baby #1(I think) Waited a looong time (maybe too long due to jobs and elderly pets). Now we seem to be doing everything right, but NEVER a BFP??? I am on bcomplex, omegas, prenatals, chromium picolinate, vitamin D, coq10, maca root, evening primrose, guaifenesin, conceive plus, and preseed. I will say I heard primrose from day 1-O will help cm. Also guafensiein significantly helped my negative cm:blush:
I take benadryl to sleep which decreases cm. I am hoping this is our month. Last thread I posted 3 out of 5 ladies got pregnant. Thats right! Maybe this is our month :)

I've been I a thread with you in the past! I really hope this is our month!! I have high hopes!

Do either of you ladies check CP? I checked tonight before DTD and it felt open! Though I usually don't ovulate until CD13...which will be Saturday. How long before ovulation does your cervix open? I haven't started opk's yet, Actually I only have 3 left so I wasn't going to start testing until Wednesday. Now I'm in a bit of a panic that I might ovulate early.

Have you been to your doctor yet to have all the tests run? I really hope this is our month! I had an HSG and I just started on Clomid this month so I have my fingers crossed. Although I have my doubts because I have had really bad cramps since 2 days ago when I ovulated I wasn't able to BD last night only the day I ovulated and then the day before my Positive OPK so 2 days before ovulations. We have been pretty good at BDing every other day this cycle but I'm not sure if it was enough, I'm only 2 DPO today so I have awhile before I can start testing.

I don't usually check my CP to see how open it is however I do check to see where it's at and what it feels like. The day of ovulation mine is pretty high up to where I can barely reach it and it's very soft to the point where it's hard to tell it's my cervix. I also check CM and right before I ovulate it's very strechy and then after I ovulate it goes back to the sticky CM and then mostly disappears. I can't remember where I read this but I read that if you have a good ovulation you will become more dry or the CM could disappear. Not sure how acurate it is but that is what happens to me after ovulation. I start testing around CD 12 but when my cervical mucus starts to become strechy thats when I know that I am getting ready to ovulate soon which is what prompted me to test at 10pm the other night instead of waiting till the morning to test like I usually do.

I think I need to check CP because I don't get the stretchy CM (I'm lucky if I get watery) though sometimes I'm not even sure I'm having watery because it it a bit cloudy, but feels too runny to be creamy. I never knew figuring out CM would be so difficult!

I'm hoping that since it was open that means ovulation is a few days away, it wasn't super soft or super high (I've felt it in SHOW before) because we would like to get in a few more BD sessions before ovulation to up our chances.

My boyfriend didn't like me enjoying a drink. I only did enjoy a couple when I got my period. I'm stopping now because I ovulated. The patience drives you crazy. I'm on my tww. Only my second month of TTC. I was on the pill too. I hope it all works out for you ladies. Waiting this long has driven me nuts. I thought it would be easier. I'm just taking it as it goes, and staying hopeful.

yes, beachy i remember you. :flower:I was planning on starting doctors when I hit 6 months. Unfortunately, my hubby switched jobs and we dont have insurance now. Hopefully, in 3 months. I am a little slow to the cp game. and temping? hmmm, well it seems inconsistent due to sleeping patterns. So that leaves me with opks where I got 2 surges in a month. Yes, I am a mess. I try and make it up in the supplement area. I do believe I am the issue because I have never seen a positive and my hubby has gotten his ex girlfriends pregnant. We will have to wait it out and see in 3 months.

How are you ladies doing?

Today I am 6DPO and trying not to symptom spot especially since I got OHSS from clomid and it is causing a lot of bloating and cramping, some sharp some AF like cramps. Plus it is way to early to be getting symptoms.

You don't need a positive OPK to ovulate - some women never see a positive but they do ovulate. I don't know if it's the case with you, but that's why I always tell women to trust temping over OPK's.

I have an appointment to go see my Dr. on Wednesday this week, I'm hoping she can tell me if I did ovulate or not. When I was temping I know I was, but I gave up that a couple months back and have just been using OPK's. I actually hope the problem is me right now because my OH is unemployed and doesn't have health insurance so he won't be able to get checked until he's working again in a few months.

That sounds bad, i wish the reason i wasn't getting pregnant was unexplained infertility, but if one of us has to have a problem it would be better if it were me.

Checking CP isn't for everyone, I normally check it now around my fertile days to see if it's open or not. For some reason it makes me feel better knowing we are having sex when it's open and I know some spermy's can get up there! I stop checking it after ovulation because it changes so much it'll drive a person crazy.

You are a few days ahead of me. FF says I'm 2DPO today but I think I'm only 1DPO. FF gave me dashed CH saying ovulation was on Saturday (because of a positive OPK on Friday) but I think I ovulated on Sunday. Sunday my cervix was in SHOW (it wasn't in SHOW on Saturday). Not sure which one is more reliable, but I'm going to go with my cervix and the fact that you can ovulate from 12-48 hours after a positive.

I was pretty upset that we couldn't BD Sunday, but oh well. The OH thought he could skateboard again (@ 38 I have no idea why) and he took a pretty bad fall and bruised his ribs....thankfully he'll be ok, but he was in so much pain I didn't even ask if we could BD.

I know how you feel I got a Postive OPK on CD 17 and was only able to do it the day after which is when i'm assuming I ovulated and every other day before because I was in so much pain and DH was not feeling up to it. Is it bad that I would have totally dealt with pain just to get an extra BD in.....lol the things we put our bodies through just to get pregnant.

I would BD if I had to flu if it were my fertile week! I don't think anything would stop me!

I wish they had a cp class!
I try but dont even know what I am trying to feel. I can relate to the high and low, but open?

I also have a hard time trying to figure out if it's open or not. Not sure how to tell for sure but I looked at some pictures on the beautiful cervix project of closed cervix's and so I just guess.... Not really reliable I guess.
