Hello my name is Roxana and I've been trying to get pregnant for the last 2 years. My husband and I "are a little old", 40 years old, and we have starting to loose hope. I've done severals IUI , probably 10, with different type of medication, and we've never done an ivf because i do not produce the amount of foliculs necesary for that procedure.
Any ideas and comments will help me a lot at this point. Im loosing most of my chances to be a mother and it is desvatated to me
Thanks, and blessings

Hey hun

Didn't want to read and run.

Is there really nothing that they could do re IVF to help stimulate the follicles?
What about using a donor? I only ask as i have met a couple of people of late who are going down that route now and they are so positive and excited about it?

P.s. you are sooooo not a little old! :hugs:

i don't have any advices ...but you will find great support here hon

I would find a new fertility clinic. There is so many drugs out there that stimulate follies. If you haven't already, I would get a second opinion. Just so you know (or maybe you already do), many clinics refuse IVF on women over 40 because the chance of pregnancy is less than a younger woman, and this brings down their "averages". I would find out if this is the case in your fertility clinic. I am very sorry if I am wrong here, but, I think that they would at least give it a go.

Hi! :hugs: I have trouble ovulating as well so I feel your pain.

I would try a second opinion as well. Maybe one doctor is not familiar with the meds that will help you but the next doctor will be. I wish you lots of luck on your journey!

:dust:

You would still be able to do IVF, it would just mean that you'd have to accept that you may only get a few eggs which will mean the chance of getting an embryo is lower. It is outlaying a lot of money for poor odds, but if this is something you want to try, then I recommend finding a clinic that is willing to take you on. There are so many different IVF protocols these days that i'm sure a dedicated clinic could find a protocol and drug doses that would work for you. Don't give up yet, keep looking at your options, do some research and find a good clinic :hugs:
