Hi ladies!!
I'm so sorry about not updating sooner! Things have been a little hectic IRL (we just sold our house) and between work and the kids and the holidays I completely forgot to come back and update.
Things are looking much better than initially expected. Baby is doing well and growing exactly according to schedule. They did find a large hematoma behind the placenta, which has the potential to cause problems in the future (such as slow growth rate for the baby, and possibly (but less likely) problems with the placenta). But the outlook for the long term is much better than expected, and at 20 weeks we'll check more thoroughly how the baby is doing/developing and after that will have regular ultrasounds to keep track of his/her growth.
I've had weekly appointments in the past few weeks and baby has been looking good throughout. Have another ultrasound this week to measure the hematoma to see if it's getting larger/smaller/staying the same and to compare baby's growth to that of 2 weeks ago to see if there's been any impact.
I'm still having blood loss (it's been 3 weeks!) but it's no longer red so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that it stops soon as well as it would certainly make me feel better.
But all-in-all a much more positive outcome than I ever expected!!
Thank you all for your advice, stories, and encouragement in the past several weeks
