Hi, really new to this site so unsure of what to do!
I have had 5 miscarriages in the last year or so, the first one last july.
All but one of them seem to happen at 5 1/2 weeks, only one lasted until 11 weeks.
I have a gorgeous son who is 3 years old and i had absolutely no problems with him, i sailed through pregnancy and was even at the gym the day before i had him!
i have had all the blood tests done, and so has my husband but they have all come back clear. I don't understand what else it could be. Has anyone else had this problem?

Not exactly, but i know what your going through and my heart goes out to you,i miscarried twice last year the last one should have been born last week.I have got healthy children aged 15 and 11 and just cant seem to get caught again.MY other half says im completely obsessed on having another and is scared to try again as he doesnt want to go through all the hurt again.Good luck on the nxt time is all i can think to say,it will happen my cousin had over 8 m/c and then went on to have 2 children.

I'm sorry I really don't have any advice for you but I did want to tell you that I am so sorry to hear of your losses :hugs:

thanks guys. who knows - maybe i am just too obsessed by it all. i am just so desperate to feel pregnant again. everyone says it'll happen when you don't expect it which to me is complete and utter rubbish because i am constantly thinking about it - counting cycles and ovulations. i feel i am being punished for something. it's hard to make people understand isn't it?

Thats exactly how i feel my life at the moment just seems to be taken over by the thought of getting pregnant, people say the same to me it will happen but when? B/f just doesnt have the same need as i do to replace what i lost, onto day 8 now in my cycle so testing again,so quite happy again this week but was miserable as sin last week.Nxt month gonna try the clear blue fertility monitor

I'm really sorry you're going through this. :hugs:

My aunty has had many m/c's mostly at around 8 weeks I think but she also has had 2 children.

It's a terrible thing to be going through but looking at it in a positive way at least you clearly can concieve easily. Hopefully before too long you'll have a pregnancy that sticks. :hugs:

It's never easy when you have a miscarriage, I'm scared incase it happens to me :(. But so far so good I hope. I hope you do go on to have another healthy baby and because of the miscarriages it will make it extra special. To take your mind off TTC you could not chart or count cycles and just try and let nature take it's course because with or without charting you will get pregnant again, I'm sure of that. Have you been to the Doctors and explained you situation to them? They may be able to offer extra help as soon as you get that BFP. Good Luck! :hugs:

Thanks for all your words everyone. I have been given a new train of thought by an unlikely source! A friend i was discussing my miscarriages with happened to ask if I had low blood pressure. This is strange because, yes i do! I have always had low blood pressure, especially since becoming a fitness instructor. So much so that, when i went for a smear last year, the nurse was extremely concerned! However, as the doctor quickly pointed out, it is only because of my fitness levels and it is very good that my bp is low. however, my friend mentioned that her friend had the same problem and, when she fell pregnant, her bp started going up to "normal levels". Doctors finally discovered this was why she was having so many miscarriages - her body thought she was unwell so got rid of all things it thought were not needed - ie. early foetus. It just made perfect sense to me. I am going to phone the specialist first thing on Monday morning to suggest this to them. Who knows? It may just be the answer. Has anyone else heard of this? HAs anyone else got really low bp too?

Hmm...I have low blood pressure with all the signs (cold extremities). My bp was 116/x then went up to 132/x during my pregnancy. The lowest reading I've ever gotten was 108/x after d&c. That's an interesting theory, although my m/c was relatively late.

First of all, I am sorry for your losses. They are not easy to go through.

When I first started to try and get pregnant, my first pregnancy ended in miscarriage the day after my doctor confirmed I was pregnant.

A suggestion. I had a good doctor who tested me with regards to my thyroid and I was borderline underactive and now need to take medication everyday. Thyroid is very important in many cell processes, and also important in a viable pregnancy. Ask your doctor about checking your thyroid. Thyroid conditions also cause low blood pressure, btw.

I'm so sorry for your losses hun :(

Maybe you could venture towards natural therapies such as naturopathy, chinese medicine, accupuncture etc they might help your little beans to stick or perhaps even figure out why they aren't sticking?

Best of luck hun :hugs:

Hi, thanks for this idea. I had my thyroid checked in September and it is fine. I asked a doctor last night (in the pub!) about the low bp theory and he is definitley interested. He said it was a very plausible reason. Doctors in Britain don't treat low bp because, as we are in general a nation of bad eaters with high bp, they think ours will naturally go up anyway as we get older. So, starting lower gives us more time to eat ourselves to death. He knows that they have been doing more research about this in France and Germany so he'll look into it and let me know. I'll keep you all posted. x:confused:
