When do you give bottles and food? At the moment I do bottle at 8, a heinz brekkie thing at 9 then bottle at 12, then bottle at 4 then an apple heinz thing at. 5 then last bottle at 8... Is that ok? When he hits 8 months going to wait to give food at 6 so he can eat with us :) What sort of things from 6 months onwards did you feed your little one??? What about follow on milk??? Xx

We shift our routine around a bit, but at the moment we do...

7am breakfast then bottle (she has half the bottle)
9am - rest of 7am bottle (or a fresh one if she wants it any later)
10am - snack & water (eg a rice cake or some plain yogurt)
11.30-12 - lunch
2.30 - bottle
5 - dinner
7pm - bedtime bottle

We feed lo a variety of pureed stuff that I make myself and we offer lots of finger foods now too - soft fruit, steamed veg, organix baby puff snacks, rice cakes & I've even made some savoury carrot & cheese cakes for lo to eat. Pretty much anything goes now I'm gaining confidence with finger foods (lo has been fine with them from the start but I found them quite scary!)

The need for follow on milk is debateable. We use it because lo doesn't care whether she has normal or follow on, because she only has three bottles now (it has extra vitamins & iron), and because it can be used to collect boots points! (Great parenting decision backed up by money back points offer!!!! :haha: ) But you don't have to use it. Try your lo on a carton if you're thinking of changing over and see what he thinks, some babies don't like the change in taste & some parents don't want to try it in case it upsets lo's tummy.

hey what yoghurts can you use as didnt think lo was supposed to have dairy untill at least 1 year ( for future reference were not weaning yet but will be starting soon) or am i confusing it? i dont know a lot about weaning. when did u start finger foods?

LO can definitely have dairy from 6 months. I think I gave Jack yoghurts before 6 months actually. He has cheese, egg and whole milk on cereal x

Yup Isobelle has dairy now, especially since her milk intake has dropped. She has eggs, cheese and fromage frais. (munch bunch or petit filous) She had these before 6months..

xx

Leos been weaning since 17wks because of his terrible reflux.
His day is usually
7 - bottle 6oz
9 - baby porridge
12 - bottle 6oz
2 - maybe half a jar of purree
4 - bottle
6 - another half jar or maybe some porrdge
7 - last bottle then bath/bed

He loves his food! He wont have more then 6oz milk, just wastes it or spits it back up :nope:
on the yogurt front - iv seen special baby yogurts but can they have any type of yogurt from 6 months?
