Hi,

Have been ttc for 22 months. Unexplained infertility other than suspected endometriosis and hypothyroidism. Ovulate every month. Cycles approx 28 days, very regular. Use progesterone suppositories in 2ww because of spotting.

Tried 4 rounds of clomid + IUI and nothing. Was ready to try IVF but travel plans got in the way and decided to go back to natural for a few months. This was our last month and low and behold got a positive HCG last thurs (13 dpo, day 27).

Was over the moon, couldn't believe it happened naturally, took 4 home pregnancy tests and line did not get darker. Went in on Monday (17 dpo, day 31) for follow up HCG (96 hours later) and levels were only 27. So rising but definitely not doubling, nor going up by 60%.

I am devastated. I was told there is a 10% chance of a normal pregnancy at this point.

Going back tomorrow for another blood test but not feeling optimistic. No cramping or spotting yet.

Is there any reason to keep hope alive at this point?? I've read lots of posts about low hcgs that are rising but not doubling -- but no numbers that look as dismal as mine :(

Thx for any input.

I'm really sorry but it sounds like a chemical pregnancy (an early MC). My 1st MC was a chemical. The day I started bleeding my levels were at 11. The 2nd one I was 6 weeks and even though my levels were higher than yours, they failed to double, went down, then up again. They were worried about ectopic so did and U/S. They found a embryo in-utero with a heartbeat, but I miscarried 5 days later. I really really hope you'll be among the 10%:hugs:
