We are debating the exact same name for our little girl! Emily was my grandma's name, and we want to use it as a middle name. My fiance likes Madison for the first name, but I'm not exactly sold on it yet.

It does sound nice though, I'm just not sure I love the name Madison.

I like them both. I am definitely tore on them now but I still don't care for Emily at all...kinda hoping I can talk him out of that one. I always try to pick a traditional name but one that is not overly used, and I know at my oldest son's school there is only a couple of girls called Madison...well according to my 8 year old anyways. He also says there are a couple of girls named Madeline too so I don't know. His name is Samuel and he is the only Samuel in the whole school and it is a pretty big K-5 campus.

I would go with Madeline (and like the spelling Madelyn especially) I think it sounds a bit more feminine and softer than Madison, which is a little harsh sounding to me, but that just my two cents, they are both good names
