March Mamas 2012 Baby Group (Closed Group)

Afternoon supermamas! :hugs:

Well leaving F with OH went great, she slept soundly the whole time I was away so bottle wasn't even needed. Might try her on it this evening so I can put Roh to bed. It was lovely having time alone with him, he was so cuddly! We went to playgroup and made easter chocolate crispies, which was a lot of fun and pretty tasty :) took Roh in the ergo carrier and walked there and back (its down a huge hill) so gott some decent exercise :) definitely will have to do that regularly as I think Roh really appreciated it :)
Roh is now napping and I'm snuggling on the sofa in the sun with my girly :)

Hope everyone's days are going well. :hugs:

Ladies who had vaginal birth...how long did you bleed for? Mine has been very very light since day 7 ish but still a little there and every so often a big spurt if blood just when i think.its stopping...i am day 11 today.

mitch, I'm the same. It usually increases if you've been doing a bit more than usual. For me it may carry on like this for another week or two due to amount of babies, so you may be the same as me or stop in a bout a week or so:)

ft - so glad you and little George are well!! I was checking in on you for days and was worried to read about the c/s but I'm now over the moon to read your sunny posts again:) Take care of yourself over the next few days/weeks and don't worry if you think your on a bit of a emotional roller coaster, a bag of maltesers goes along way on more hectic days or even better those new Wispa bites!!! I ate 2 bags of them last night to myself lol!!!

Hope all other March mama's are well:)

6lilpigs - sooo true, chocolate and cake are great medicine!! ;)

Yummy..i got twirl bites today...not going to help to get rid of jelly belly is it

Have lost about 18lbs since birth..am still about 10 lb over pre-preg weight....all on butt and belly :nope:

Wt....lovigg your boys in their cots...i am sure Mia would look equally teeny tiny ha ha. What weights are they now? They look fantastic...i know you are bf'ing...but still exclusively with two? Or topping up? :flower:

I stepped on the scale with them yesterday, and it seems they are roughly 6 lb 8 oz. and 7 lb. 8 oz. So they're still small, but that's a 2 pound gain since they came home 4 weeks ago!

6lilpigs - sooo true, chocolate and cake are great medicine!! ;)

Mmmmmmmm chocolate cake sounds yummy. But I really have to eat better. My jiggly tummy is pretty bad.

C3PO, sorry about your itchiness. :hugs:

Glowie, today would be a lovely day to add another baby boy to our midst.

AFM... We are doing well. I just keep looking forward to the 2 month time frame when I can look forward to a "full" night's sleep.

Hurray for leaving Freyja home successfully!

C3, hope Jessica feels better soon. Do you guys have the Snotsucker in the UK? It seems gross but it's well-reviewed... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1A7F68DJHMK3X2CVAR6G

Mouse....I noticed a load of boogers up Mias nose this morning and wondered whether thats why she was a bit grouchy last night....have a sucker thingy in our Tommy Tippee grooming kit...wonder if I should give it a go. A little scared of shoving things up her nose though...

That snot sucker looks pretty gross albeit efficient.

Mitch, don't be afraid of the bulb shaper aspirator thingy. It's very soft. We've used ours several times and carry it everywhere since both boys have had scary choking incidents. You can stick it in their mouths to quickly pull out any spit-up. It is also great for sucking boogers.

Yeah, WT, you should see their other product, the Windi.

Thankw WT....Mia had a coughing incident last night but she seemed to spit up by herself.....the boogers are another matter,i might give those a go later....at the moment she is sleeping having a conversation with herself

quick pic of my little Mia enjoying a morning nap on her mama

glow- they usually can only eat about an ounce from the start, so i wouldnt make up much more than that

mitch- its so awesome how mia has changed you! and so glad the bf is working out. i really wasnt sure it would for me either, but so far its nice. as for bleeding, for women who ff it usually is off and on lightly for up to 6 weeks. i usually would stop between 4-5 weeks and have first pp af at straight up 6 weeks. i find it odd, but have read for bf women it can go off and on for up to 8-9 weeks. and hopefully no pp af for a long time lol!

hope everyone is great today!!!!! i have lost all the weight i put on with mason. now im working on the weight i put on back with jaxon  (unless i get pregnant again some time soon :haha:)

I now have STEROIDS! Wooooooo! Hopefully and end to these hives is in sight. If this doesn't work then I am going to buy a cape, fight crime and become, 'The Human Hive'.

City - we have snot suckers here. Only there seems to have been some sort of snot sucker rush and I am waiting for the shop to get some more in stock. But at the moment we're using saline sprat and snuffle babe.

Mitch - Mia is so cute!! I haven't had a viginal birth, but post partum bleeding is different for everybody regardless of the type of birth you've had. It can last anything from 10 days to six weeks. It can be just like a regular period or it can gush in stops and starts. As long as it doesn't smell bad, is green or yellowy in colour, has clots larger then a 50p or is soaking through a pad in minutes, then it's perfectly normal. I know this because I googled as I was convinced something was up as I was having gushes ratehr then the period type bleed I had with Amy.

Glow- I usually make bottled up with an oz to spare in case baby decided they suddenly want to up their feed. Start off with 2oz and see how it goes. At 3 weeks Jessica is taking between 2 1/2oz and 4oz

I forgot to mention yesterday was my middle daughter's 6th birthday. Another March baby :)

FT - im so sorry you had to go through that - im so glad you and baby george are well - and lovely weight for being overdue ( gives me hope of no toddler baby)

My cat is going mad tonight - she keeps hooting and yelping at me - Im hoping a good sign but she is just probably being her usual mishieves self

L x

Mia is a right little guzzler.....great that she clears a whole feed in 10 minutes but its like her life depends on it!!!! She just chucked back up what seemed like at least half of it but who.knows.....thats the problem with bf for me...not knowing if shes had enough and feeling awful when she brings alot back.up....guess thats normal??? She seems awfully grouchy again....i wind her at least 2-3 times during the feed...anything i can do.to slow her down???

To be honest its only once per day she chucks back up...in the grand scheme of things....with a total of 10+ feeds today thats pretty good

Got the early evening blusey feeling....get it every night in anticipation of what sort of night we are going to have

mitch- sounds like she is getting plenty, but hey this is my first bf experience so i dont know. im sorry your getting so down in the evening. i was that way for about the first week, but not anymore. i hope it passes soon for you! :hugs:

Mitch - sounds like she's just an efficient feeder...which is incredible!!! Noah had a few spewy incidents last week and it drove me mad, not only was i covered in slightly digested milk but you just know they're going to need more milk which at 3am was getting a bit depressing! I found I was holding my boob and it was just making way too much milk come out too quickly so now i'm very much hands off - just get him settled on BF pillow and leave him to it - now he's learnt the whole self-latching he's much more able to control the flow... we're feeding about 10mins per side but def using both sides per feed... hope you have a good night hun!!!!

Right, way too much baby chatter and not enough food chatter soooo....tonight i'm making rhubarb fool. I love rhubarb a lot and my FIL brought me a massive bunch from his garden. Found a recipe that is basically roasted vanilla rhubarb and whipped cream/sugar - i've decided its the perfect BF food :haha:

Hope you're all well lads...and to those struggling a bit with BF - please keep going as it DOES get easier... i've now been pretty much pain free feeding hands free and letting him sort out his latch for past 24-48 hours and am over the moon... wasn't really expecting it to take this long to be honest but glad i persisted.

Hey Mitch, try changing position, laid back has helped to far lessen Edith's spit up. She got it far worse in the horizontal cradle positions.

Waula thanks for asking....appointment at clinic ages away in mid May, spent all morning on the phone trying to find someone available to diagnose her properly but no one about. I'd reluctantly go private....if we had a conclusive diagnosis as I can't last till May. In the meantime, trying a very careful colic/wind routine to see if that makes any difference.

Thanks ladies...Mia very much latches herself and controls the flow...has done for a while. This feed i am doing a nappy change half way through to.give first lot a chance to.go don....should do.the job i.hope
