March Mamas 2012 Baby Group (Closed Group)

ok... finally edited and finished my message above  george sure is a diva.

ft - you've got to remember that you've probably had less bowel movements this week, so theres a build up in your system atm in regards to weight! When things are more regular next week you may notice your weight going down again:winkwink:

Thanks 6lilpigs!!

erm...ok... so i actually DO think my boobs are out of milk???

edit: OK so seems boobs CANT run out of milk... but can take a while to fill up adequately.... mmm.. doesnt help when i have a hungry baby

Thank you laura. Yyoure lovely.

Ft I had the same with weight loss. I was gutted! But now I'm 2stone down. I think the fluid takes a while to get out if your system. Plus your giant boobs. Hee hee.

People on Facebook. How can I add you? I've got Waula but mixed up about who anyone else is.

So FT you decided to give BFing a try? Sounds like you're doing a bang-up job of it! It certainly agrees with George.

No Glowie news, but since she didn't report back after calling in we're assuming she's at the hospital getting ready to meet her baby!

I have accupuncture again in about three hours. Very relaxing... hope it accomplishes something!

Must admit that although I never wanted to go over (all my friends seem to give birth at 39 weeks), having this extra time has been heavenly. Bringing a baby home to the messy house would have been agony. Now it's clean and finished and I couldn't feel more at peace about it! Also, good news on the work front... I'm almost done. Really, though! I could finish today!

missy do i not have u on FB already? thought i did... i will pm you my name :hugs:

rashy - yup im BFeeding ... and its going super :smug: funny how worried i was about it and its the only thing that ended up going smoothly :haha:

also, rashy, now looking back having those extra days overdue really did help. In terms of the house actually being decent etc.... so hang in there xxx not that u can do anything else, but u know what i mean :winkwink:

Oh, yeah, FT! I feel great. I'm very thankful about the extra time. :)

Missy...i am friends with waula and mouse and co.....my name is pretty obvious...surname N o r m i n g t o n.

Ft...fab things are going well for you espec the bf...remember i felt the same about it but have taken to it well.....and to be fair its not all us mamas...the LOs make a huge difference.....mia is a natural breast feeder. Your milk still becoming established maybe....dont think.you'd be running out...does george stay on when latched and chug and swallow away? Milk definately present :)

Hubby just fed Mia her first bottle of expressed milk...good girl. Bit of wastage as i.had no idea how much she would take....collected 3oz and she took.around 2...so.i knoe how much to.put in next time:happydance:. I love bf'ing but i must say i feel a little weight lifted that i have the option to let hubby take pressure off...can have a leisurely glass of wine wihout worrying about my milk supply....a bath without rushing.....feel much happier:kiss:

Oh, wiiiiiiiiiiiiiine. How I crave a glass of wine. And this seems like the point where everyone is suggesting it to me, LOL.

FT - Glad to have you back. Super glad George is doing well! Feeding takes a while to get sorted out. Days four and five I had to pump out one of my breasts in the morning because it was too engorged. Since then he's emptied both so it hasn't been a problem. Milk cannot run out, your body will simply make more as he sucks.

Waula - MsC's Kay down feeding is great! I do a combo of that and rugby ball hold. Dharma seems happy with it and we rarely get a burp and she's never vomed (we are obviously lucky though).
"Rugby ball hold"! Ha! They call it the football hold here. I find different positions work on different sides. The foot/rugby ball hold works really well on my right and the cradle hold works better on my left. I sometimes nurse laying down but it only works on the breast closest to the bed. This morning hubby woke up to find the bedside light on, me passed out with my boob hanging out and the little guy passed out in my arms. We slept for 4 hours like that.

TMI - but i also had my first poo since birth, a psychological milestone! Invested in some lactulose and went for the highest dose possible, instant impact!

Also discovered he's another one that huggies don't fit. Tried them last night and he leaked wee out of them both times - really annoying as he might have slept longer otherwise.
Thanks for sharing your birth story. Amazing job you did. I'm happy mine went fast. Super intense but super fast.

I've had a couple poos but I'm still nervous about pushing. I just sit there waiting for it to come out on its own.
This morning hubby was out and I really had to go. The little guy was quiet but not asleep and if I put him in his crib he would start wailing. I considered just waiting a couple hours but I realized that wouldn't be an option much longer. Then I had a brilliant idea! I got the car seat, put him in it, set it on the floor of the bathroom and could rock it with my foot as I did my business! Worked like a charm! Now he's in the sling because other wise he's super fidgety. I just have to remember take him out every couple hours to feed him.
We tried Huggies as Hubby had a coupon. The first two leaked but we adjusted how we put them on and now they're fine. And we're almost out of them already. The little guy sure knows how to go!

I meant to say before: C3PO You poor thing! Just looking at those hives makes me itchy. I hope the steroids work and fast!

If you want to add me on FB search my screenname @gmail.com

Missy, my name is obvious...Loo Lindley. Is everyone friends with Rashy??? I'm gutted, she is not my friend!!!!!!

Missy, I know the lonely feeling. I don't want to bf with my parents in the same room so I go up to our bedroom where I feel lonely and sometimes like a prisoner. I can hear people enjoying themselves downstairs and urge D to hurry up. Sounds bad I know, but I spend so much time up here.

FT, my bf support woman folds me that boobs don't 'fill up' on a feed by feed. They do it on a 24 hour basis. They tell your brain 'right we used this much milk today, can we have the same again tomorrow please' so you may have fed slightly less yesterday off that breast? If you switched over, there would be plenty. That's why new bf techniques take a day to establish.

Dharma has been so sleepy all today, and especially after her sleepy night last night I reckon I am in for a rough one tonight. Ah well, nowt I can do I guess. She's even falling asleep as I'm trying to feed her.

Mouse and Kymied...will you be my friend

Kym, it's called football hold here too, but my oh is rugby mad, so we've called it that!!!!

Has anyone else still not had a drink? I've not touched alcohol since the start of July and not because I feel bad about bf and drinking, I don't! I just really don't fancy any! Also because I've been so tired and emotional I don't want to end up more emotional iykwim? I hope I start fancying wine soon. This is most unlike me!

Yes, I'll be your friend, Loo. :haha: And LOL at calling it a football hold in the UK... that essentially means you're just using your feet, doesn't it?

Kymied, I never thought I'd feel all "awwww" about a story about somebody's boob hanging out. But that's so cute!

Can I be friends on FB too? My surname is F R O W E picture of a cat :)

:haha: totally had something i wanted to say but now its gone.... :dohh: seems ''baby brain'' is still going strong :haha:

Loo - wine love will come back to you hun...it has to...how can we get by without wine  LOL

thanks for all the milk supply info ladies :)

george is currently sleeping on DHs chest...... :cloud9:

Ooh i want FB friends too i feel left out! :( I'll add the obvious names and people who have said on here, then can one of you do some recommending when you get a chance? :hugs: (by the way i've added Mitch and Loo its Joanna C.... is mee! )

Been to a birthday party today, there were several babies under 2 months and a bunch of toddlers, plus lots of cake and a bbq, good times. Chat and boobs out all over. We so have to get a sandpit, Roh had a blast! :)

a sandpit sounds soooo much fun.... wonder if i can convince DH that george needs one NOW...... :haha:

Mmmmmm cake.....

I am naughty and shopping for pushchair accessories. Ha! Yaaaaaaaaaay. Whoever recommended Ewan the dreamsheep is amazing. I thought he was ok but today I realised that I had it on "quiet", today i set it to loud and Ted conks out straight away! Mad.

Someone sent me the most generous present today. A Vera Wang music box. This is from someone I've never actually met in real life. People are lush when you have a baby.

Loads of positive baby vibes for Glow xxx

FT - Don't worry, come week two you'll be feeling more like your old self. It's amazing
how quickly the body heals. Also you won't burst if you cough or sneeze or when you have a poo, even though it feels like it.

Thanks everyone for you well wishes on the hives. The steroids seem to be working, but I still worry that they may come back after I have finished the course. On of the more worrying side effects listed of the steroids is - You may experience, see or feel things that aren't really there.

Jess has had a very sleepy day. I just know she's going to be wide awake tonight.

Squeeeeee Facebook friends. Feel free to add me SeaThreePeeO, just remember to say who you are on here so I know you're not stalker or anything.
