March Mamas 2012 Baby Group (Closed Group)

Congratulations to Glowie! What a fab weight and a fabulous name. Can't wait to hear all about it and of course see the pictures.

Fantastic news about glow :happydance:

emera and missy have added you both on fb:kiss:...very curious now about where your bnb user names come from??!! I always wonder about everyones and been.meaning to ask.for a while....mines pretty boring

Yay for Glowie! Congrats.

I saw a lovely midwife the other day by the way who recommended that I massage pure lavender oil into my scar. She said it's fine to do as it's antiseptic/antiinflammatory and should help to reduce the scar and the massage will help bring back the feeling. Top tip..

Mine is totally random, I wanted something anonymous and there was a leaflet for a shop near me which was called Missy and Lady Blaze so I shortened it and chose that! Quite boring really.

Quick poop question... One of my boys has not pooped in about 18 hours. Lots of pee pee diapers though. He's only getting breast milk so I don't think it's possible to be constipated. His last poo seemed perfectly mustardy and normal. Any thoughts about whether this is a problem? He's had lots of noisy gas. Just no poo.

My name I have on pretty much every forum I'm on. It's an old AOL screen name I had when AOL wouldn't let me have the name StatusClitical.

WT - Jessica only poos about once or twice a day. But she'd bottle fed.

Loo, Laura, Emera, C3PO I added you all. You'll recognize me. Missy do I have you already? I also don't have Mouse.

And now I have to feed this kid AGAIN. My mom came over for two hours and only got about 20 minutes with him because he's constantly hungry. If this continues all evening he should sleep well tonight.

WT i'm sure it's fine, like you said they don't get constipated. BM is so brilliant that there's not much waste compared to formula so they poo slightly less. I'm sure he will soon. Keep an eye on it maybe...

Hah, Mitch my username is my standard online pseudonym. Its a shortened version of my character name from several rollplay games, and a few online games too. ;)

WT - F poos like mad, but Roh used to poo every 2-3 days, and he was fine. As long as you get wet nappies and the poo when it comes isn't hard or dry, and he's not more miserable than usual, then its nothing to worry about :hugs:

Just received a pic of Glowies baby! I'll keep the details of name to myself so she can do her announcement, but he is gorgeous!

Thanks for all the FB adds. Just going to work back through who everyone is!!!

Thanks for the quick responses. I knew I could count on you laddies for poop answers. :haha:

It's strange having twins because it leads me to question a lot of things I would not question with a singleton since there wouldn't be a constant source of comparison around.

Ok added more of you on fb, some guessing involved! Again, i'm J oanna C.... ;)

I've figured it out now!

Just done D's best and tightest swaddle of the day, and she has rewarded me by taking a massive noisy dump. Start all over again!!!

WT, my little guy didn't poop from Saturday morning until Tuesday. But he had easily 8+ pee diapers per day. The doctors were not concerned. The visiting nurse said if I wanted she could take a rectal temperature and that would get him going. Just the threat of that got him going! Breast milk is 99% digestible so it's not uncommon for not a lot to come out. So like the others have said if he's not straining, it's not hard and dry when it does come out, and he's still peeing he's fine. She said it's normal for them to go many times per day or only once a week.

My little guy has been nursing on and off all day. Most of his feeds have only been 5-10 minutes long but he keeps wanting more. I feel like a giant pacifier. I'm starting to think it might be time to try a pacifier....

My left nipple is doing really well, Elliott has been latching well without any pain. The right nipple on the other hand hurts a lot when he first latches, even when his latch is perfect. I'm thinking it just might be a little chapped and will heal. (if he ever gives it a break!)

Also: His stump fell off today, well most of it. There's still a little bit left that the nurse said would scab and fall off. The doctor said to put some rubbing alcohol on it to encourage it to fall off. It's nice to not have that ugly thing flopping around but I want the whole thing gone. I want a cute little belly to blow raspberries on!

Loo, Laura, Emera, C3PO I added you all. You'll recognize me. Missy do I have you already? I also don't have Mouse.
 Yes, you do! Am I that forgettable?

Let's see, I chose my username because I'm rashy, angry, need pity parties, and apparently the latest is that I'm pervy (MISSY!). So I looked long and hard for a word that would accommodate all of my various states of being. :haha: And then I went in search of a group of lads who would exploit that!

:bike:

Have seen a flurry of FB activity so will add you all / Lauren P.

Zack had some really good sleeps today, was nice to be able to get on with done other stuff. I should have slept when he did tho, regretting that now and think he might have slept too much today!! I really need sleep tonight- had an hour and he's just woken fur a feed.

Ft - we could only get him to sleep on us too until yesterday. We put a hot water bottle in the carry cot and pre warm the mattress as we figured it was going from warmth to cold that woke him. Midwife assured us he'd transition in his own time - she said look at other mammals, we're the only ones that expect out young to immediately separate from us, it's not nature! She seems right so far.

Had my first post natal weep this evening, a combination of tiredness and remembering a week ago today I was in my own in hospital with him, and I'll never have that night again where it was just us and so new. Perhaps shouldn't have watched obem so soon, cried thru that too!

Mil is coming tomorrow and staying a few days, wish me luck!

Oh, one favor to ask, lads... I'd really like my baby just to be Baby G here at BnB, not her full name!

You know, since she's so eager to make her appearance and all.

Oh alcohol, that was the other thing!
I've had a couple of half glasses of red wine so far, a glass of champagne and 2/3 a bottle of beer. Not paid any attention to when I've then fed afterwards, The nhs website seems to suggest a couple of units is fine, and I know my friend used to bf in the pub with glass of wine in one hand and her baby on the boob! Her midwife had said it was fine, not asking mine in case she contradicts :haha: I think it's only an issue if drinking large amounts.

I'm going to order these: https://www.amazon.com/Milkscreen-T...YSH2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333241021&sr=8-1
