Loo don't know if anyone suggested it yet, but you might think about taking D for cranial osteopathy. It can really help to calm fussy babies Also, after a bath i put the towel to warm (wrap it round a hot water bottle, as our heating is off) then wrap in warm towel, big cuddles and then i massage F's legs and feet with a bit of oil. Always use long slow strokes from the top of legs down to ankles, and then i rub her feet using my thumbs on her soles gently squeezing her feet and rubbing in little circular motions. I leave the rest of her wrapped in the warm towel whilst i do it. It seems to really relax her. Did a baby massage class with Roh, and he liked it too
Also, i find often F seems sleepy but won't go off now. I don't really remember the point that Roh stopped just falling asleep and started to need help, but it does happen as they get more alert, they loose the ability to fall asleep and need help and to be taught to fall asleep. In times of desperation with Roh i would swaddle him, darken the room, put on loudish music with a good rhythmic baseline and do a "bouncy rock" - i'd cradle him upright against me and swing my top half of my body round side to side (like i was trying to look behind me to the left and then to the right)whilst moving my weight from one foot to the other and bouncing a bit. Also throwing some good old tuneless humming into the mix helps too! The longest it took to calm him was about 15 minutes of doing it.
