Mat leave for Baby #2

Does anybody know if you have to work 'x' amount of weeks after returning from mat leave before you can go again?

We're thinking about baby #2 but OH thinks I have to work a full year before being entitled to mat leave again? I just thought it was the same whether you've previously been on mat leave or not.

Hey,

I don't know any hard facts, and not had experience myself - but one of my best friends has LOs who are 15 months apart in age... So she was pregnant again 6 months after her first was born. I'm pretty sure she got SMP as normal with her second.

HMRC should be able to tell you.

I think as long as you go back to work for one day you are entitled to SMP as when your on maternity leave its classed as continued service
