Help! I'm a bridesmaid for my friend on the 16th July, will be quite far gone by then, about 28 weeks. She had already picked my dress and now it will be no good! Looking online for something but can't really find anything suitable.

Anyone know of any good evening maternity wear sites? the dress has to be midnight blue to match the other bridesmaids, luckily i'm maid of honour so it doesn't really matter if i dont match the other two!

Don't know any sites I'm afraid but, at a push, I'd buy an empire line dress in a size large enough to go over my bump and then get the top taken in and hem evened out. Obviously, this would need to be done as near to the wedding as possible!

I have tried non maternity empire line dresses and they really don't work on me.
Isabella Oliver does some beautiful maternity evening wear or you could try just doing an internet search.

Hey hun, what size are you?? I'm being a bridesmaid on the 1st week of july and have got a dark lavender dress which is gorgeous. I'm a size 14ish pre pregnancy and would be more that willing to lend you it. x

im going to be 32+4 (august) when im a bridesmaid! im really looking foward to it my friends so relaxzed said we shall find a dress closer to the time which i know that what we have to do but im allready plus size have u tried ebay? theres some lobely mat dresses for bridemaids and made to measure xx

I am going to be over 30 weeks with my second and I just bought the dress she wanted 4 sizes bigger and am having it altered. The seamstress said it would be no big deal--I know a few people who have done that without a problem. You could always consider that (unless the dress is skin tight, most seamstresses will easily convert it to maternity style).

Alfred Angelo has some and so does David's Bridal. You can look on line at those two places.

you could also try seraphine and asos maternity x

my sister wore an empire style maxi from coast to be my bridesmaid though she was barely showing by then - could be worth checking out coast's range though!

Cheers for all the help and thanks for the offer kimmy but don't think i will fit into a 14! Havent done since i was about 16!!

I've sent her quite a few styles and hopefully she will like one of them. The ones she has picked for the other bmaids is the a debenhams debut one and it has a detailed panel around the waist so im not sure it could be altered :( Sure something will turn up!

Oh I think i see the one you mean on Debenhams site

what about this one, it's quite similar?

I don't think it's maternity but its cut in a way that might work

Or this, unless like me your boobs are humungous!

or hopefully she'll love one of the ones you already picked. good luck!

My MOH found a really nice one from ASOS. She was 8 months pregnant when I got married, and it looked really nice. I only had her as part of my side of the bridal party, so it didn't matter about matching etc, she just made sure it fitted in with the colour scheme xxx

I have the isabella oliver long tank dress in a midnighty blue./purple and it is STUNNING - gorgeous fit, lovely material and can easily be dressed up and accessorised AND dressed down with flip flops as just a maxi

im maid of honour in october at my brothers wedding and i will be 34 weeks! freaking out a tad...goodluck i hope you can find a dress i dont have any sites to suggest but didnt want to read and run. xo

Aw good luck! I was bridesmaid for my best friend last weekend at 34+2 (she was a total bridezilla about it as well, caused me so much freakin stress) and she ordered a maternity one from Jasmine Bridal. You can order them quite late on (although you have to pay a bit more) and you can get them fitted late on too.

Word of warning: the sizes are insane. I was a size 14 pre preg. I'm in size 14-16 mat clothes. They measured me (goes by bust measurement only and my boobs haven't grown much at all) and said I was a size freakin' 22!!!! However it was huuuuuuge on me, I could fit my entire head into one of the cups!!! :haha:

I'm not sure if you could dye it (probably not) but I'm more than happy to let you have my dress. It's bright pink but I actually didn't look *that* bad in it :)

Oh dear i dont want to wear a size 22! I'm self conscious about looking the size of a whale as it is! Thank you for the offer, but it's strictly midnight blue. Sure something will come up, found some really good ones of the sites you have suggested so she is ordering all of them and i can just have a trying on day!!

Im not a size 22! I just wanted to warn you wedding dresses/bridesmaid dresses are weirdly sized is all. Like I said, Im a size 14! My own wedding dress was a size 14 when I was a size 10 when I got married.

Sorry i did understand that! Hope you didnt think my post was rude, i didnt mean it like that!

Lol, its ok. Dont worry you're not going to look like a whale. If you get a decent dress (and ignore whatever size it because it reaaaaaaaaaaally doesnt matter) you'll look like a beautiful preggy lady. I was bridesmaid with 2 other girls who were size 8 and although they looked great and I was very aware I was 3 x their size, I felt that I looked great too for the first time in my entire pregnancy!!!! And all the guests ignored the 2 skinny minnies and kept smiling at me and saying how pretty I looked!
