Maya abdominal therapy

That's definitely a very stressful job you've got too. Interesting though! At least you've only 3 weeks to get through, I'm sure you can do it. Given the level of risk it's definitely worth telling them before the 12 week mark.

So was your hubby delighted when you told him the good news? :)

Hi Susie, I gladly second your thoughts on alternate therapies after your experience. Have you started using the progesterone cream?Does it have any side effects? Fx for your sticky bean, You maybe on :cloud9: these days. Keep the positivity going... :flower:

Hi Yippie
Glad you had a good break :)
The progesterone is a pessary! Joy! Sorry for TMI but it's given me terrible bloating, wind and some cramping!
Thanks for positivity - am keeping everything crossed. The days are dragging by.... Can't wait til the first scan, although it will be v nerve wracking! No date for it as yet.

Sending lots of :dust: your way - hope this becomes a lucky thread! Xx

Aw sorry to hear about the side effects from the progesterone! But if it helps the little one its totally worth it! Hope the next few weeks go by fast :)

Hello ladies and thank you for the warm welcome!
The haramaki belt thingy sound pretty comfy for the cold Dutch winter. I might order it myself.
I am doing fine, I am on CD8, so I have still time for OV. Good to know that the massage works best if you start right after AF.
My DH has his birthday on Thursday (turning 30) so I arranged a trip for the two of us in Ghent, Belgium, for the weekend. He is doing his PhD, which is stressing him out at the moment, so he can use a break for sure.

Ooh that sounds like a lovely break coco! Hopefully you may even be ovulating, or about to ovulate, on your holiday! I definitely recommend the haramaki :) I've only been to The Netherlands once, it was November, and coooold! So I'm sure the haramaki will be very beneficial.

Hi guys,

How are you all doing? I'm struggling a little with my positivity at the moment - yesterday was a bad day as, despite anything I could do, I was in awful pain. I don't know if it was typical ovulation pain (it felt like it, though I thought I had ovulated the day before) or if there were cysts bursting or maybe the egg was struggling to get through the fallopian tube for some reason. I've had this many times before and have been told so many times that it's ovulation/possibly endo, but that there's nothing they can do, so I just took the day off and curled up with a hot water bottle.

It made me sad. I'd naively hoped that the reduced pain and aches I'd previously noted on this thread would continue. Now I'm just feeling a little despondent and thinking this month may be just like all the others. I feel like this pain can't be normal. I see others talking about their ovulation as 'twinges' and 'slight stabbing pain' for a couple of hours and I'm like - 'wow, I wish my pain was like that' - mine wakes me up at 4am and I think my insides are falling out. I feel like someone's stuck a knife into my adbomen and has twisted it. Then I get nauseous and dizzy. And every time I sit down I get searing pain shoot up my cervix and deep into my abdomen. This lasts for 24 hours.

The worst part is that, if I did ovulate yesterday, I was in too much pain to DTD. We did do it for 2 days prior so hopefully there was enough of his men up there!

I'm feeling much better, physically, today. I'm feeling better emotionally too but struggling to remain positive. I guess it's normal to feel this way. We can't be positive all the time. I just hate that I had such a bad day. (Though I did make some amazing vegan jaffa cakes to cheer myself up!!). I'm sure I'll get back on track!

Sorry for being a bit down in the dumps! I hope I'm not bringing anybody down with this post - I hope you're all doing well :)

Hiyya Red !

So sorry to hear about what you were going through !Me thinks.. Pain waking you up at 4am means there is something wrong and requires intervention & your description got me goosebumps! I can sense what you were going through:hugs: !

Did you feel any kind of pressure like veeing or BM ? or any pain while passing urine or Bowels?

Yes, there's absolutely nothing wrong in you feeling that way after what you had been through !I'm sure too that you will be fine.

I have heard of ladies that say they have had this kind of pain during ovulation, with some responses that it is supposed to be a good sign. But I can't comment about it as I have come across such posts on B&B and unable to find them now. You may search through here. Meanwhile, I shall see If I can catch hold of anything for you.

Keep the hope & take care!:flower:

Red,

According to some ladies this seems to be a common thing around ovulation(Mittelschmerz- maybe you already aware of this). Since each one of us is different, this seems to occur in some ladies, due to which, they know exactly when the ovulation occurs and the egg is released.

Fx crossed for you hun. Good luck  & I think you should still keep busy

Thank you so much Yippie! You're so kind and your reply really made me feel very supported :)

Yes i agree this isn't normal. But I've been to numerous doctors and almost all of them have minimised it. I first went to my (horrible and male) GP when I was about 20 and he literally told me to 'get over it, every woman experiences this'. He put me off getting help for years and I just went on the pill, so the symptoms stopped. Of course these symptoms returned pretty quickly after coming off the pill. My current GP is lovely and she referred me to an OB/GYN (again, horrible and male) who saw me for 8.5 minutes (I timed him) and he utterly dismissed my pain. My GP could refer me to someone else but I feel they'll just be the same. Here, AFAIK, I can't just make an appointment with any OB/GYN I want, I have to be referred :( Plus, the waiting list is horrendously long unless I want to pay a hell of a lot of money. After my last experience, I'm not keen to do that tbh.

Yeah sometimes I get pressure and pain with passing urine and BM, but thankfully not this month. It's quite a typical symptom of endo.

Thanks so much for the link - at least I'm not alone! Sometimes I wonder if I just have a super low threshold to pain (redheads are supposed to have a lower threshold..!) - I wonder how I'll ever get through childbirth :haha: I have a friend with endo and she conceived pretty quick so I'm hanging on to that and hoping that if it happened for her, it will happen for me. Fingers crossed. I just need to stop worrying ;)

Thanks again for the link and your kind words and support. You're great :flower:

How are you today?

hey Redlemonade, It's a pleasure to be of support! How are you feeling today ? I hope the pain has completely subsided today?

The guys do not have any understanding of the practical feelings of women. So perhaps they cannot empathise with ladies undergoing the pain  Have you had any ultrasound at all to dismiss anything. I know you did not go through the laproscopy, but atleast an ultrasound to see if anything was found?

yes you should stop worrying, easier said than done ! I always somehow think about something that's annoying involuntarily and end up getting tensed or worried :dohh: and tempered, during crutial times of the cycle.

I ovulated three days early this cycle, that is yesterday & today I'm 1DPO. I'm happy that my current cycle will be a 29 day cycle than a 31ish day cycle.I give the credit to yoga and the haramaki. These are the two changes I did this cycle along with getting lots of sunshine and magnesium supplements.

Hubby has again planned for a weekend vacation coz of my birthday so we heading to the Swiss tomorrow for the weekend, after which I'm heading back to my home town for bro's wedding. So much travelling this month, :nope: I hate travelling and holidaying when TTC as I can't be on my healthy diet and follow usual practices.

What DPO are you on approx ? Hope you feeling positive ?

Thanks Yippie! Yep feeling a lot better now, no pains or aches atall which is great. I often get lots of achiness for days after ov so this is good!

I've had lots of ultrasounds but they were last year and showed up nothing then. Well actually it showed some tiny cysts but on the ovary that DOESN'T hurt. They said these were tiny and very normal

Great that you ovulated early! I think I'm about 2-3 dpo so I'm not far ahead of you :) Feeling much more positive again but really hate the tww.

Wow you lucky girl, holidaying again! I'm very jealous! I'm the opposite, I love to get away when ttc as it takes my mind off the 'business' and I'm more relaxed lol! Have a fab wknd!!

Ah Red so sorry that you were having a bad day and in so much pain yesterday - it sounds horrendous. I'm sorry ur Drs haven't been more helpful. I too have had several ultrasoynds due to pain (not as severe as yours sounds) that showed nothing - v strange indeed. Glad to hear today is a better and new day. Stay positive you're defo still in this month, I got my BFP only DTD once during the fertile time 2 days before ov!! So you have hope. Sending you lots of :hugs: and :dust:
:dust: to you too Yippie!! Good news really early ov and holiday!! Get lots of R&R xx

Thanks Susie! I really am wondering, since ultrasounds showed up nothing and other women get this pain too, if it is just 'normal' for me. Lol I might just have a very low threshold to pain!? ;)

How are you feeling?

How are you feeling?

Yeah it could be that it is "normal" for you, although it sounds v painful and unpleasant, so it's counterintuitive to think such pain is benign. Are there any more investigations you can have? I think my pain was mostly uncomfortable and mild. Hopefully the continued massage and castor oil packs will help - although even better you'll get ur BFP and won't have to do any more!!
AFM - I had my last acupuncture treatment- she says they don't treat n pregnancy unless there's a reason such as morning sickness. She gave me a last nourishing treatment. I'm still feeling pregnant, which is a good feeling but the days are crawling by!
What CD are you? When will you test?

Well aside from that one day I've been feeling pretty good. Usually I get several days of achiness so I'm putting it down to the massage and castor oil packs and so forth :)

I don't know about any other investigations. They said they won't do a lap because we're ttc. Hopefully we get our bfp anyway this month. I think I'm due my bfp lol!

I'm glad to hear you're feeling good! Any sickness yet? When is your scan? I think I'm about 3-4 dpo or so (really not counting!) and my lp is usually 14 days minimum. I won't test until I'm late though so I'm thinking if no AF I'll test in 2 weeks? Wow seems so far away!

Defo fingers x for BFP this month. TTC tests your patience for sure. I've never been a very patient person at the best of times lol!
No sickness as yet, just some queasiness. I guess I shd make the most of it for now! My scan is 9th sept at 6w 2d - so feels quite early but hopefully will see something, then we'll pay for another scan at 8w before I tell work. So I'm also ticking off the days!! It's going sooo slowly!

I'm glad to hear you haven't had much sickness yet - long may it last! Eeep, not long until your scan now - how exciting!!

Hi Ladies, :flower: happy to be back, missed B&B, at times when thinking about ttc ! Don't know if I've messed up this cycle by eating a lot of junk and stuff at restaurants! I've have had mild cramping, past few days.

Red, Glad that you've been feeling good these days & happy that we have nearly a same cycle phase :) Do you have the habit of symptom spotting? I just notice the cramps and apart from that I let go of anything else !Do you have any symptoms yet ?

hey Susie, Fx for your scan and keep us posted dear, yey ! I know you want the days running to reach the day of your scan lol :haha: I'm in my tww and wish that the time could fly !

Hey Yippie, yes it's great having someone who's at the same stage in the cycle :) I try not to symptom spot but I fail at times. Like I've just been in the work kitchen having lunch and I felt a sharp pinch in my lower abdomen and I thought for a second 'ooh I wonder if that's implantation'. But since I've had this 'symptom' before I'm not reading anything in to it. I feel the same as I do almost every month. Though, if anything, my bbs are LESS sore than normal. But they don't follow any sort of a pattern anyway so I try not to worry!

I have literally googled the crap out of every 'symptom' when I first started ttc, haha! Hopefully your cramps are a good sign hun! Keep me updated!

Oh Red ! That's what I'm like with the pinches and twinges !
Suddenly today I'v got a severe pain on the front upper left thigh bone, linear with the pelvic bone line that aches when I walk. I hope it is not anything serious, I have my 21 day blood work tomorrow as I am meeting the specialist on the last week of September. I already think my cycle is woggle doggle because of my diet. Any way no harm in anticipating a BFP.

You may have stopped the massages just before ovulation, are you doing anything else after ovulation Red, or just waiting ?

Ouch that pain sounds awful, hope it's improved by now? I hope the day 21 tests go well! You're right, I think it's good to anticipate and be hopeful about getting a bfp (without getting hopes up too much I guess!). It's a difficult balancing act at times. Yesterday I actually felt AF like cramps for a bit, which got me a bit down. But actually I did my little massage routine and put on my haramaki and genuinely felt better!

The massage has changed post ovulation. I still do the upper abdomen part but on the lower abdomen I just place my hands there and let the heat from my hands soothe the area. It's quite nice just to lie there and relax!
