Maya abdominal therapy

Couldn't agree more about being relaxed and positive. Fingers crossed I catch the egg this month!

LOL, I'm not surprised you couldn't get back to sleep after the BFP! I'd be on the rooftops shouting it out :haha:

It's good that you're off work today. Sometimes I wish I could cut my hours; I've a very stressful job. Thankfully I've been off this week, just relaxing, but I'm already dreading getting back there next week.

I see from the other thread that you're seeing your GP today so good luck with that!

Thanks. Having a week off will do you good. It's so tough having a stressful job. Mine is too and I often wonder if it had some role in my MCs, but u have to pay the bills so what can u do? I've tried to step back a bit as well when I am there. I don't care what other people think anymore! Lol!
Had my GP apt and she's prescribed progesterone and baby aspirin, plus referred me for an early scan, to the midwife and for consultant care - a good result indeed!

Great result from the GP! I have a good feeling this is your sticky bean :)

Sorry to hear your job is stressful too. What do you do? I'm a social worker; I've been trying to cut back and all too but it's very difficult in this line of work. Still, I'm determined not to let my job get in the way of my life. :)

Social worker is defo v v stressful. I work with male offenders with mental health problems- there is always a drama! As soon as I let work know I'm pregnant I will have next to no client contact due to the risks, which will help me feel less stressed but I don't want to tell anyone too soon, cos of what's happened before. I'm hoping that if I have a positive scan I can let them know at 8.5 weeks when I return after a weeks leave, so only 3 weeks if work to get thro. Fingers x!! It feels like the days are crawling by!

That's definitely a very stressful job you've got too. Interesting though! At least you've only 3 weeks to get through, I'm sure you can do it. Given the level of risk it's definitely worth telling them before the 12 week mark.

So was your hubby delighted when you told him the good news? :)

I love this thread! I found all the info about the Maya massage and acupuncture super useful, but I am also scared of needles, so I will stick to the massage for now :) It is also a thread with a BFP, so it must be a lucky one :D Hope the rest of us "alternative" ladies will get our BFPs soon.

Red - yep he's excited but v anxious, more than me! Taking it one day at a time! Have u ov yet?

Hello Coco! Welcome! I too hate needles lol! Have you tried the massage? I was defo going to try it based on what Red said if I hadn't got my BFP.

Sending lots of :dust: to this thread! I think alternative therapies rock! I have my next acupuncture session on thurs. I hope she can do something to support implantation

SusieC, I live in the Netherlands and couldn't find a Maya practitioner when I searched online. But I am doing what I see on some youtube videos :) I guess it can't hurt.

Good luck with your next session and let us know how it goes! I am very curious.

I'm glad you found it useful coco! I loved the massage and am still doing the self care massages every day. It's great for keeping me positive. Good luck!

Oh and if you're following the self care massages from the YouTube videos, just make sure to stop the lower abdominal massages after ovulation :)

He's bound to be a bit anxious but he'll settle in a while. I hope your next acupuncture goes well!

I think I'm quite close to ovulating right now actually :) Fingers crossed!

I'm not sure if its the massages, the castor oil packs, the heat packs, the haramaki or the positive mental attitude, but my ov pains - while still there - are a lot better than previous months when I was almost at the point of going to hospital! I'm noticing now that doing the self care massages eases pain, whereas I used to be afraid to even touch my abdomen during ovulation before because it hurt so much. I wonder what it's ACTUALLY doing on the inside! I really feel like I'm breaking up some of the congestion. I wish I could see what's going on inside!

I actually had 1 lonely clearblue opk and decided to use it to 'prove' to myself that I'm right and that I'm about to ovulate and sure enough - smiley face! Can't wait to get home from work now! ;)

That's great redlemonade! I know these therapies help. Good luck :)

Hi Ladies,

Read through all that I had missed, the past three days ! Phew..! stressful jobs indeed. :dohh:

Welcome coco! how are you doing ?

Redlemonade, You indeed know your body so so well ! Amazing !I Hope I didn't miss my days into ovulation, had been really busy to POAS, and now that I'm back home expecting to ovulate tomorrow or the day after.

Planning to start the massage shortly as I gotta go hunting for the Pukka brand that you recommended. It feels good to know that Your massages have eased pain and congestion. What day are you on ?

Hi Susie, I gladly second your thoughts on alternate therapies after your experience. Have you started using the progesterone cream?Does it have any side effects? Fx for your sticky bean, You maybe on :cloud9: these days. Keep the positivity going... :flower:

Hi Yippie, welcome back, did you have a nice time? And yay for upcoming ovulation!

Yeah I definitely feel the pain is less this month. I think I'm on cd 15/16, not really paying much attention to cycle days tbh!

Good luck with the massage - I think I said it before but just don't do the lower ab massage after ovulation. You might not see much effect this month as the best time to start is right after your period.

Hey RedLemonade, Had a gala time & enjoyed a lot, weather was amazing too & we visited all the islands nearby. Gotta appreciate the will power and determination of the people, around that hundreds/thousands of years ago, as they found a way to construct houses on water with wood foundation !

Wow way to go ! not paying attention to the cycle days.
Thank you for the tip Redlemonade, will start massage if necessary next cycle. I know you don't temp, but have you observed any changes wearing the haramaki ? Or perhaps you may attribute it to all the changes that you may have made this cycle.

My coverline temps have greatly improved to 97ish F , which is pretty high, which usually in the past have been in the 96ish F range. I'm sure I haven't ovulated yet as I'm still on CD13 and generally have been ov on CD16/17/18. So the coverline temps maybe a good sign

Sounds like you had a lovely holiday! And very educational too - I love those type of holidays where you get to explore!

Well I'm definitely more toasty with the haramaki! Definitely less achy when I'm wearing it compared to when I take it off. I'm also using a heat pack (overkill? Haha) - ie therma care/voltarol. Usually it's used for bad backs but I heard its great for ovulation and period pain too. No way could I afford to keep using them; it's more of an experiment really! But that is helping too. I guess I've introduced lots of new things this cycle so I don't really know what's been the most beneficial. Maybe a combination?

Good luck and catch that egg ;)
