If you do not want to read something with a little bit too much info, then continue to next thread. If you feel very sick and are sick at the slightest thing, get away now!!

Ok, I can not go to the toilet. I want to but I can't!! I have a couple of times, I think it works out at just about once a week.

Yesterday morning, ooooooooohhhhh the feeling, I knew it was coming, I got to the toilet very quick, sat and waited ........ and waited ........ finally ............... ploop!!!!!!!!! PLOOP......what's that all about. It was the tinyest ploop I've ever seen. I'm not bloated or in pain needing to go, I just want to go. The same thing happened this morning. I can't get bran flakes here or I would have scoffed a full box in 5 mintues by now!!!

What do you all do to try and go to the toilet??

I do have another question, I find that my urine can be on some days, very yellow. Does anyone know what this is a sign of? Good, bad??

I have been kind, I think I have made this thread not to gross and with tmi!! I'm sure I'm not the only one :wacko::winkwink::haha:

Poor you!

Yellow urine sounds like you're dehydrated and that can also make you constipated so drink more water! If you're really struggling you could go and see your GP and get somethign to help things along.

I don't feel like I need to go, not in pain, but sometimes in the evening and in a morning, I want to but nothing happens. Like I said, a couple of times it has happened and ooooooh, got a tingle down the spine! Felt lighter!! :headspin:

Thanks for the info on my yellow problem, thank god it's not a problem. I do try to drink plenty of water but it gets so boring. I am on water now!! I drink juice (diluted with water) is this ok as a substitute now and again?? Hope so, it's nice to give my taste buds soemthing exciting now and again!

I do feel for you, I have been suffering with the same. I have just been trying to eat lots of museli and fresh fruit and drink lots of water. I have still only been averaging 1 or 2 a week but like you, I'm not in pain so I have tried to stop worrying and let nature take it's course.
Hope this helps?

I can't drink plain water so I mix in a small amount of Robinson's squash, the fruit and barley one, maybe that could help you with drinking water too?

So long as your not in pain and are passing some bowel movements I'd not worry.
Once/twice a week is normal for a lot of people. If you're getting discomfort though you ought to get it checked out.
Make sure your diet is balanced with fresh fruit and veggies as they contain plenty of fibre too.

What ever you do don't push or strain because we're susceptible to piles during pregnancy and pushing hard can make them worse/cause them.

Hey Charlie

Poor u! I have similar problems too! I do try not to strain too much for fear of my little bean popping out!! and also have heard like Kellz said about piles! The only other thing I would try is reflexology if you can or know anyone that does it as a rub at the bottom of your feet where your intestines are can really help the bowels move I know this has helped me before and also lots of friends who have constipation.

Otherwise just try and eat lots of fruit and veg and lots of water even with squash

xx

I had the same problem in the first tri. It was terrible and after a while I did start to get a belly ache too. Other than eating lots of prunes or trying prune juice you could try milk of magnesia. It's safe during pregnancy and you just take a very large dose (It has instrusctions for how much) and it tends to work the following day. Either that or talk to your doctor who should be able to give you something. :hugs:

i do know that Fibrogel is safe to be used during pregnancy - you can buy that over the counter........

Do you take prenatal vitamins? I notice that the color of my pee is very yellow a few times after I take them.

Yep, in fact thank Leanne, I have only got one left. Trip to the pharm! I am on Centrum Materna, best ones out here. Also doc put me on 2 vitamin E a day aswell.

I am a little restricted as to what I can buy out here in BG. In the main city super markets the choice is better, but locally, not too great.

Totally off subject. This dinner time I actually felt a bit like eating. So, as I said before, had chicken and cabbage, also some chips (normally it's a cabbage and carrot salad but just didn't fancy it). I ate most of the chips, most of the chiken and cabbage. My OH said, you used to eat more than this, you ate mroe than me, what's up with you. Erm.......let me see now ......... could it be because .......... I'm PREGNANT!!!!!!!!! Bloody hell. He then rolled his eyes, I asked why he did that and he said well, we buy food, you don't eat it, you don't cook cause you're not hungry. Bloody moaning minnie, glad he's supporting me so much. God help him when my moods start going all over the road, he better run for cover!!!!

Don't worry too much just try and drink lots of water, fruit juice and fruit! try cutting down on meat protein as it is harder for the body to digest, i found that having some carbs (rice, potato etc) would help things along.
Cordial (squash) is fine as long as it isnt the sugar free stuff because they use sweetners which us pregnant folk are not supposed to have (aspartame i think is the name of it).
But don't worry it won't last forever, once you are into the 2nd trimester and things should get back to normal :)

I didn't know we shouldn't have sweetners in squash !!!!!!!!!!! I drink loads of the bloody stuff.... the 'No Added Sugar' ones :(

I had constipation, my Midwife told me to take some Lactulose and drink orange juice.... It worked :) but then my 'bump' disappeared

OMG !!! Now I'm really panicking.... can anybody be a bit more specific about Aspartame. I've just Googled, (which I swore I'd never do), and it's sayng that its lnked to cancer, and it's in Robnsons fruit shoots and squash, and my kids drink loads of the blody stuff !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh man I drink lots of sugar free cordials! no one has ever mentioned that to me before!!

To be honest Ann-Marie everything causes cancer these days according to the press and websites it annoys me :(

sorry to be glum but just found out my mums cancer has come back and it sucks :(

My Mum had breast cancer 2 years ago, and a mastectomy. She's 'ok' now, but everyone is always on tenterhooks everytime she goes back for her check up. I'm really sorry to hear your mums has returned :hugs: :hugs:

Yep, I have to agree with everyone else. You just need a bulking agent like Fibrogel or Senakot. You can get it over the counter and it is GREAT! You wn't be able to live without it after a while!!!

Hey there

My dad has just gone back into hospital yesterday, secondary cancer from the last lot. Thing, is he couldn't be happier. He says he has so much to look forward to this year (trip over here and baby grandchild) that he's on a high, can't bring him down. It's good to see.

Sorry can't help with the cordial info. I'm drinking a concentrated grape drink, not too much though, but better than water all the time. When I next go to the big super market in the city, I'll be scanning for Robinsons, I'm sure they have it there.

Update, still no movement, had a large bowl of fitness this morning, the cabbage didn't work yesterday, lol, feeling a little low in the belly so heres hoping for later :)
