So, Zoe is home from her opthamology appointment. Her fever came back mid-appointment. Thank god we brought Tylenol with us.
Anyway, her vision is going in her left eye now too. In October, her vision was 20/20 in both eyes. In May, her vision was 20/30 in her right eye and 20/20 in her left eye. Now she's 20/40 in her right eye and 20/30 in her left eye.
Since we can't patch both eyes, Zoe is getting glasses with two different prescriptions. Her right eye will have a stronger prescription as we really want her brain to remember her right eye, and we'll follow up again in two months.
She did not want to cooperate with selecting a pair, downright refused to try some on until I called my mom and my mom pretended to see her wearing the glasses. She picked a really cute purple pair. They had a promotion on, two pairs for the price of one, and because her disability benefits covered her glasses, we got two pairs. That way, if one breaks, we have a backup pair. We still have to pay a little extra because we're getting cable temples put on so that it's more difficult for her to pull them off.
I really hope this works, because next step will be patching one eye at a time.
Her glasses will be ready on Thursday. Guess I better start wearing mine again.
Mummy - No, she's not on any seizure medication anymore. She was on clobazam but it caused severe sleep and behavioural issues so we weaned her off. She was left on the Ativan for emergencies only, if a seizure lasts longer than 5 minutes. Her CP seizures are few and far between so her neuro doesn't think it's necessary to medicate right now.
