Mayhem Babies! May 2011 mummies and babies

oh, and I have that forehead thermometer :) It really is awesome. We haven't had to use it except for our own amusement :haha:
I know if he ever runs a fever I'll have to take the armpit temp anyway since thats the temp the docs will want to know.

Bethany slept through!! :happydance: Last feed was at around 9pm-ish and she slept through until 6.15am :happydance:

The drs around here recommend a rectal temperature. Boo!

Yay Bethany!

Brandi the the paracetamol is given based on weight here, although George is dinky and was recommended the same dose as my friends baby?? The Calpol brand says from 2months on the box, and the pharmacy brand says from 3 months, but they all the same thing.

They dont recommend any specific themometer here, the doctors use the ear one. Im sure that 34.7 wasnt accurate, I will replace it as soon as I can.

George stayed sleeping from when I posted until 2.30am, so that was about 9 hours without a feed, just at the wrong time  but he did cool down, feed at 2.30am and then sleep again. He is so much better this morning and full of smiles and gurgles. Cant believe he is 2 months old today!!

Happy 2 months to Livi :)

Wiggler nice one on Bethany sleeping through!!

Hope Sam feels better today hun. How was Ava Milos?? Hope they both ok today xxx

Wow George is really chatty and gurgling today, he has a proper chuckle going on :cloud9:

He he happy 2 months to George too!
Yey go Bethany Livi slept through too from 9pm till 8am lurvely :D

Went out this morning with my HomeStart volunteer, we had a mooch round town then went into Wetherspoons for a coffee, it was really nice to be out, but it was quite busy which made me a bit nervous, my pelvis is a bit achey now so not sure if I'm going to meet OH from work, we shall see how I am at 4.30. I hope its feeling a bit better.

Hope everyone is having a lovely day, I'm going to have something to eat and plonk myself on the sofa for a few minutes, I'm shattered!

Hello ladies!

hope you are all well? had a rough week, william was admitted to hosptial last week with a fever and suspected meningitis, had to have a lumbar puncture done (needle into his back) and antibiotics thru a drip for 5 days. Turns out it wasn't meningitis but he was showing all of the symptoms. Worst week of my life watching my 4 week old so poorly but im glad to say he is better now and i'm back! lol!

There is no way i will be able to catch up on the 100's of pages so i shall stalk from now on lol!
xxxx

Wiggler hope you pelvis is better to meet OH later :)

Charlotte really sorry to hear William has been so poorly :( Glad he is feeling better :hugs:

Looks like meeting OH is a no-go. Dylan just fell asleep, he has been trying to have a nap all day but I haven't let him, I fed Bethany and looked over and he had fallen asleep on the floor :dohh: I don't have the heart to wake him, he is shattered.

As promised, a pic of me and Bethany, and some other lovely piccies :)

Haven't had chance to catch up.

We've had 4 days of Josh screaming during every feed. He was obviously hungry but couldn't drink and it was getting worse each day.

He was admitted to paediatric unit at the hospital last night and they think he's got slient reflux. He's on gaviscon and the ret and dep meds they usually perscribe. He was awake for 19 hours yesterday with only 3 hours sleep in that time! He is absolutely zonked today but seems much better. Fingers crossed he is now sorted.

He's got to have his weight monitored weekly as he's now on the 9th centile and keeps dropping. They were talking about keeping us in until his weight goes up and wanted to put a feeding tube in his nose  So glad they didn't, it was heartbreaking enough as it was.

Hope everyone is ok :flower:

Charlotte:hugs: So glad William is feeling better that must've been so scary.

Wiggler, he looks so comfy :cloud9: i love watching them after they conk out in random places lol. You look really good hun and Bethany is looking more grown up bless her.

Bizy, my lot have always prefered the rectal lol, get alot less screaming that way than trying to persuade them to do it armpit way:haha:

Lisa, sounds like he's doing so well:happydance: Yeah I figure Eilidh has to have hollow legs.

Got a 9pm to 6am stretch here. Jackie our NICU followup nurse is coming today instead of tomorrow to check on Eilidh, fingers crossed for some gain of both weight and height, she was 8lb 5oz last wednesday and 21in, she was 4 months old on sunday:wacko: She is filling the newborn babygros a bit better but that could be the cloth bum helping:haha:

OMG Meow! Poor little guy :hugs: Big hugs to you all

Thanks mummy, I don't really like how I look, but I don't think I look too bad in that pic, a lot fatter than I would like to be, but I got to stop using my gob as a garbage disposal to fix that. lmao. I have all my fingers crossed that your little lady has gotten chunkier!

I tried all afternoon to get a pic of me and the kids together, but only 1 of them was awake at a time. lmao!

Thanks Wiggler

mummy- Hope your little lady has put some weight on!

We're getting really good nights with Josh now. He goes down between 7pm/8pm and sleeps right through until 5:30am! Well he was before having it all upset so we'll see what he's like tonight! Hopefully won't take too long to get him back into his routine if he is out of sync.

Meow:hugs: Thats scary, hope they have the right combination of meds to help him feed, grow and settle:hugs:

Wiggler, You really do look good and I would definately not have said you needed to lose weight, love the dark hair too:thumbup: Jackie will be here in about an hour and I'm proper nervous lol, last weeks visit went well weight wise but there was a disagreement between her GI doc, the pediatrician and Jackie as to a plan for the next few weeks, I was getting phonecalls and changes of plan pretty much non stop

How are everyones babies doing during tummytime? I've been told Eilidh is behind as she can barely lift her head during tummytime nevermind a pressup, is she that far behind?

Bethany can lift her head and do a press up but is lazy and spends most of her tummytime trying to eat whatever she is laying on

I don't go by "babies do X by Y age" I think it puts to much pressure on us as mummies and makes us feel like crapp when they don't do what they are meanto to according to some chart. Dylan was really ahead with crawling/walking, but 2 years behind on eating, and didn't say more than 5/6 words until he was almost 2. Every baby does things at their own pace. Eilidh is doing the same, she was an early smiler, but taking her time with tummy time stuff. She'll get there hun :hugs:

Charlotte and Meow, sorry you have had such scary experiences. Hope everything is sorted and your little ones are doing well. We've started a group on Facebook this week. I can't remember who'd have to invite you. Is it you new?

Oh cool! If anyone wants to add me i'm Jess Jones. My pic is me and DH getting married.

Off to find you meow then will add you. Sorry Josh and William have been poorly. :( xx

Meow are you holding a bunch of flowers? Light brown hair and OH with dark? :D xx

Not me hun :) I just stalked you all out lol

Meow Im so sorry Josh has been so poorly! I really hope the meds help and he settles down. :hugs: for the poorly babies and their mummys xxx

How did the weigh in go mummy??? Really hope it was all good news!! And George does nothing during tummy time. he just lies there and half the time falls asleep. I spoke to the HV and Dr about it yesterday at his 8 week check because he is really strong with his legs but doesnt seem to know what his arms/hands are for, she said it was totally normal and not to worry at all. He can hold his head a little bit if I hold him upright but not got full control. Wiggler is right, they all develop at their own paces and I wouldnt be worried at all :hugs:
