Mayhem Babies! May 2011 mummies and babies

mummy - i've thought about that before too. it's kinda weird, and super creepy if you ask me :haha:

It is creepy! The strangest are the members who you notice coming back again and again, lol I went to ones profile page once and they'd never made a post:wacko: Guess we must be very entertaining:shrug:

I noticed there was lots of lurkers on the May Blossoms thread too, a lot of them talk now though.

I have decided not to bother with MIL anymore, she is the one missing out, no point stressing myself out over it.

Thought I'd better head over here now!

Things seem to be going well so far and last night she was great - slept in her moses basket really well and started slowly waking shortly before each feed was due. I try and feed 3 hourly through the night and when she looks hungry through the day (which is usually 3 hourly too).:baby:
She's BFing really well and my milk has come in big time - can't believe the size of my boobs! :holly:

Just one concern - her cord fell off in the night. Was hanging by a thread yesterday evening and was completely off in the middle of the night. Her belly button looks fine but is this not very early?

We're about to head out to buy some girlie clothing. :flower:

Dylans and Bethanys cords came off really early, day 4 and day 5. You might find it bleeds a little bit but keep it clean and dry and it will heal fine. x x x

Usually the cord falls off between 4-10 days, so she's right on schedule!

Morning ladies. Apocalypse Not has put my husband in a cranky mood this morning. He's not a fan of being woken in the night by Isaiah just 3 hours after he has finally made it to bed. Isaiah woke at 4:30am to pee and get a drink and my husband flipped out on him because he was crying. He would have been crying a lot longer if I didn't intervene. My husband believes that Isaiah nightwakes to spite him. Poor kid's just adjusting to a new baby. Had I let my husband continue to put him back to bed, he'd probably still be screaming now. All he wanted was his door open instead of closed and he went right back to sleep! And here my husband wanted to vent and yell through his exhaustion, as if raising your voice and continually putting a 2 year old in his bed when he has to pee is going to make him stop.

Then, at 6:30am, he flipped on me for Anberlin's bottle taking too long to warm up.

It's 7:15am...off to pump, then going back to bed.

:hugs: brandi, hope things calm down when you wake back up later!

Milos Ava looks adorable!

Span so glad everything is going well hun!

wiggler so sorry your MIL is being so catty!!

Hows the pumping and feeding going today 24? You will look back on this and be nothing but proud of yourself :hugs:

I got my first little family picture today :cloud9: I look a bit shell shocked but my hayfever is on major overdrive and my pharamcist recommends I dont take antihistamines while BFing arghhh lol

Awwww! Gorgeous piccy hun! I hope the hayfever buggers off soon. Hows your sore boob now? Is feeding less painful yet? x x x

So much for sleeping. Anberlin has been awake for 3 hours straight now, has been through 2 feeds and refuses to sleep.

Just my luck.

Im not sure if the boob is starting to heal or I am just relaxing more to put him on, but Im not crying when I feed on that side! The heyfever wont get any better, I have allergies to both grass and pollen amoungst other things lol I'll see how it goes lol

Sorry little miss isnt sleeping hun! Hope you get back to bed soon x

Glad the feeding is getting better hun!

Brandi - :hugs: :hugs: I hope you manage to get some sleep soon

My sister-in-law gave us a swing her son had grown out of yesterday. Travis has been happily awake and enjoying it for the last 20 minutes! I must send her a big thank you!

I'm really ready for the nipple pain to stop. It has eased slightly, but I still can't feed him without a nipple shield. They still hurt after feeding too. Friends have told me by week 6 or 8 things should settle down. That seems so far away! And yet, I don't want Travis to be that old yet. His newborn clothes are starting to get smaller on him  I totally know what is meant by, "they grow up so fast!" I can't believe next week he'll be a month old!!

awwwww Soph the time does go too fast :hugs: George is 10 days and out of newborn :(

He just had a feed with sooooooooo much trumpy bums :happydance: he hasnt been able to pass any all day and he was getting grumpy! He looks so much more relaxed now lol

Yay for trumpy bums:happydance: New you look awesome, sorry about the hayfeer though. George looks like he's trying to get Joshuas attention. You seem alot more positive about bfing now the thrush is going.

Brandi:hugs: Really hope you get some rest.

Wiggler:hugs: I think you're making the right call with mil,no point stressing out over her if she wont bother.

Hi span:hugs: Totally normal to lose the cord at 4 days. Lol at the boobs:haha: Sounds like you have a good routine going!

Soph, I know what you mean, my Lo is nearly 3 months old now:wacko: your nipples shouldn't be so sore at 3 weeks hun, have you seen a lactation consultant?:hugs:

So i caught the lurgy:dohh: Sat here with sore throat, blocked nose and sore tummy so probaably got it from both kids. DH fine so he can look after all of us:haha:

oh no mummy :( you got the full load!! Make sure DH pampers you! I do feel better about BFing, its still painful but im confident in my MW and I should start to feel better soon :) I hope my allergies settle down too, its not so bad this evening lol if it stays bad I'll take antihistamines on alternate days to try and control it but reduce the cross over to little man.

Yeah does feel like full load, being ill sucks lol. Hubby being awesome, I'm getting hot drinks on tap and hes about to take the toddlers out by himself to do the weekly shop, he's being brave!

I think you're doing the right thing taking them on the alternate days but I'm pretty sure they're safe to take, I know claritin is. Some like benadryl can reduce your supply and make LO drowsy/hyper but thats rare. You need relief though, allergies are awful:hugs:

Awww bless your DH! He really is being brave lol Whats the betting the toddlers get their own way?

I wont take any antihistamines unless the doctor gives me the thumbs up, my allergies are severe and Ive had numerous operations to help alas they only give temporary relief :( but my doctor is aware of the problems and will know which is best for me and for baby. Lortadine is safer for baby but doesnt work for me so would be pointless taking so will see what he says in the week if I really need them.

:hugs: Wow you have em bad! Defo see what the doc says, hopefully he can sort you out so you dont have to suffer.

Yeah the toddlers will get their way, he'll come back with a whole lot of sweets

 my allergies got me offered a nose job on the nhs! lol If it keeps raining it'll keep the heyfever at bay lol

cool for the weekly shopping of sweets :) lol wont take him long to regret it Im sure pmsl

Mummy - I hope you feel better soon, glad your hubby is being a good nurse though :hugs:

Dylan is soooooooo grumpy today, he has spent half the day screaming at full volume cos we won't let him get his way all the time :dohh: Only an hour til bedtime luckily!
