Mayhem Babies! May 2011 mummies and babies

mummy- He's still really unsettled and feeding constantly. He's awake for like 4 hours, feeding every hour to hour and half. Then he sleeps for about 3 hours and does the same in the afternoon. He's normally brilliant at night. He wakes at about 1/2 and then 4/5 but he goes back to sleep straight away. Poor DH was up with him for 3 hours last night because he wouldnt settle. I'm going to try and get him to sleep once he's been awake for about an hour today and see if that helps. I'm wondering if he's just getting overtired. I can cope with fussy in the day but don't want to upset his nights because he's so good and i need my sleep!

KimE- Congratulations!

Milos- Hope Milo calms down soon.

Wiggler- I don't post in baby club either. I don't tend to go in there, i get scared :haha:

Congratulations Kim :)

Brandi glad your supply is building back up :)

Wiggler, yay for the lie in, sort of lol Thats some multitasking, feeding and pumping lol Do you use a manual pump?

Meow I hope Josh is more settled today. I was very fortunate George was constant demanding most of the day and all evening, but he did settle at last night for me.

He's asleep on my chest now after a long feed from each side lol, the only perk to larger breasts its the cutest cuddle ever lol

new- Glad you managed to settle George.

Just had the midwife round to take my iron and we've been discharged now. I probably sound like a right sap but i feel really sad about it lol. I love my midwife :(

Told her about Josh being unsettled and she said it sounds like a growth spurt. He's currently asleep though and has been for 3 hours! The past two days he hasnt slept at all in the morning so hoping he's getting back to normal.

DH has got the day off today so trying to think of something the 3 of us can do. We haven't taken him out in the pram yet due to me being ill etc.

I hope you have a lovely HV to replace your MW hun, and get the same level of support :hugs: You should be napping while Josh is finially asleep! lol Hopefully he has finished this little spurt and he'll settle for a few nights again! When will you get your iron results?

Oh oh grumpy is stirring lol Looks like we might be on hourly feeds again lol

Well its 4 30am here and my little monster still has not slept for more than 10 mins:dohh: today is going to be very long lol

Brandi, yay i really hope that your suply ups before placement!

Congrats and welcome Kim:flower:

New, so glad little George let you get some sleep.

Meow :hugs: i ope your hv is as nice. Have a lovely day out hun:hugs:

Wiggler, thats some good pumping:thumbup: Yay for some more sleep, did Dylan end up coming down with something as you were worried?

new - I use a manual pump, I would prefer electric though, hoping to get one at the end of next month. Glad George settled for you last night :)

mummy - Dylan is fine thankfully, it might just be tiredness catching up with him. I hope you manage to get some sleep soon :hugs:

Well today has been hectic already! My homestart volunteer came round and there was a car crash outside, my neighbor came running down and asked what car my volunteer has and she had to go running down cos she thought her car had been hit, luckily it wasn't, as she left the HV came. She said Bethany and Dylan are doing great, she did say she was worried about all the stress I am under at the moment and is writing to the council, she is going to ring in a week or two to see how I am.

OH went to the doctors and they wrote a letter to the council fully supporting us to get us moved, he has been diagnosed with PTSD from the attack and the letter says its highly unlikely he can get better while we live here, OH then went to the council and we have been bumped up to C band, the person in charge of housing is ringing OH when he is back at work tomorrow and fingers crossed we will be pushed up to B band due to OH having a medical issue made worse by us living here.

VS are ringing later and will be writing to the council tomorrow. I really hope we get up to B band, we can't carry on living here, its really affecting all of us, Poor Dylan has already been affected by it all, I want to be out of here before it has a serious affect on the kids :(

Awww mummy hope you get some rest at some point. She ok?

Im thinking now about breast feeding for as long as he wants it, Ive really taken to it way more than I thought I ever would, so thinking to do this I may need to think about some level of expressing to be able to do this, but not sure where best to invest in a pump. I want something that will do the job efficiently, and maybe for the long term. I never in a million years thought id utter these words lol I love BFing, although it is a little time juggling when you want to go shopping etc lol Im assuming as he gets older and more in a routine things will work out better lol

So glad the associations are being helpful and hopefully will get you the move you need so much quicker :hugs:

I have my HV coming tomorrow, think she will weight george, he needs to have made his birth weight back, not sure what happens if he hasnt??

I love BF too, its amazing to watch your baby grow and know that you did that!! I love it so much :) I think if George isn't back up to his birth weight they will either weight him again soon (like my MW did when Bethany took a bit longer to get to her birth weight) or they will suggest you do formula topups (this can mess with your supply though). But He probably will be back and above that weight hun, he sounds like a champion feeder!

I'm getting the Medela Swing electric pump, apparently its really good. Your best bet is to read around the reviews hun, and to stay as far away from the TT electric as possible, the reviews on it are AWFUL!!

Well she's on the breast again, hubby and I played pass the baby for a few hours but she's not impressed lol, new I think you passed the growth spurt in this direction:haha:

Wiggler, sounds like you have a good shot at getting out of there:happydance: I've got everything crossed for you!

Bfing is awesome, 5 years in and its still just as good:cloud9: Don't know much about extended pumping here, I was grateful to see the back of the thing lol. Depends on when you would be going back to work? You may still be able to exclusively bf and not need the pump if its after say 8m.

New, when EIlidh wasn't gaining they just weighed her more often and as long as she was gaining someting we could go a bit longer to see if she would pick it up, which she did.

I'd love to do that mummy, I dont go back to work until jan 2012 but I travel all the time and have this wedding coming up in the summer, the one I was BFing to lose the weight for! Im already struggling time wise trying to time his unroutinely feeds round Joshua's school and activities and the shopping etc lol Im dreading my first time going to my mums next week and trying to do a 130 mile road trip round his feeding lolol Im not put off yet though ;)

I dont think I passed over all the growth spurting lol... monkey here is feeding loads again today pmsl he is doing even 20-30 minute feeds on each side though so I think my previously sore side is producing the same as my good side :)

He's hungry again now and I need to go get Joshua, his timing is always the same lol

Lol yeah its hard in the early days when they're always hungry right when you need to leave:dohh: My lot have always been down to around 4 feeds a day by 8m though and certainly at 6m its a million times easier. With George being a termie too you'll probably get to that stage way before me:thumbup:

Weightloss i've found is drastic around the 5m mark, for some reason:wacko: I've seen me go down to around 95lbs ( im 5 foot 10). my hyperthyroid didnt help lol but even with it treated it was so hard to gain weight because of the bfing so watch out for that.

Hehe Bethany ALWAYS demands boobie just as breakfast/lunch/dinner is being served up, lol.

Well I'm off out now before it gets too hot, already in the 80's now  Hubbys going to give me a lift to the store, I insisted that cereal and ice cream does not a shop make lol. Then I think I'll walk to the coffee shop and get a nice drink. Eilidh is still awake so no doubt she'll be starving! I bought her a light up rattle toy the other day and its a big hit so might try and find another, anyone else tried a toy yet?

I've not tried toys with her yet, but she has shown a great fondness for the red "Cbeebies is now off the air" screen on TV after 7pm, staring into peoples faces and the ceiling

I do actually need to get her some toys, will have a nose around town when I'm there next :)

I had the BEST sleep last night. Anberlin slept from 8:00pm to 5:00am. Can't complain about that. She hates her new medicine though. It's so hard to get it in her because she spits it right back out and then screams and arches her back in pain.

She too likes to eat constantly. I don't think I get a break in the daytime, lol...and then she doesn't sleep longer than 20-30 minutes in the day either. It's exhausting, but I like the long stretch at night.

My in-laws are here for a month. It's times like this I wish we owned our house so we could refuse to let them stay. They make it so inconvenient on us, and I swear, it's sheer hell. Maybe Harold Camping was right about the hell on earth because I'm living it.

I'll go into more detail later.

When people asked me what gifts I wanted I said toys :) Ive not tried him with them yet, he only dinky lol he is starting to recognise us now though, he searches for me, Joshua or OH when someone has hold of him, and he just stares at us :cloud9:

Fab news Brandi!! :D
And so lovely that George is bonding so well with everyone new. :hugs:

Best express session yet, just over an ounce so very happy!! Went back to the BC today and spoke to a BF support worker and have an appointment with a BF counceller next week on tuesday so hopefully we can crack it, but if not then its time to stop torturing myself or not only am I going to look back and regret not BF, but I'm also going to regret wasting Sam's early days upsetting myself. The BF lady even said she was impressed I was still trying. I will never forgive myself for the decision I made, but I can't carry on like this, spending my days in tears over something I can't change. xx

Stopping in to say a quick hello! :hi: I posted pics on the May Mummies thread, but I promise to visit here when I get a chance.

I'll be able to join the circus at this rate my juggling is grade A lol... pre-heat oven > George on right breast > wind George, pop Joshua's dinner in oven> George on left breast > wind George, serve Joshua's dinner> top up George if he isnt snoozing with hiccups (BnB inbetween all that too lol) George is also finding his own way onto the nipple now, i dont have to guide him on, as soon as he is in hold he gets right on and sucks lol

Brandi glad you got a great sleep hun! All day feeding is easier with a decent nights sleep huh! I was just chatting to my friend on FB (whilst juggling the above lol) and her boy is a tiny bit older than George but doesnt sleep as well, and she was just asking me if Im struggling as she has DH there etc and did George wake all hours, I felt so guilty saying no, he a bit demanding in the day but sleeps great at night.
