Mayhem Babies! May 2011 mummies and babies

Anberlin might be attending physiotherapy. Zoe had her feeding assessment today and her OT asked about Anberlin's development and apparently there's some things that she should already be doing that she's not, so she's going to have a developmental assessment done in two weeks and depending on those results, she might be starting physio to help with gross motor development.

What are the things she should be doing and not?

Yes awful creek in it all day wud :( I do think its the cold weather :(

harvey why not put a duvet down then a fitted shet over the top of it? pad the mattress out :)

Good idea, I'll have a look for a quilt tomorrow!

What I can't understand and for some reason is peeing me off is why do they sell a cot bed set when you can't use the quilt until 12 months, you have to remove the bumper when they can crawl/stand around 6 months. This makes no sense to me:shrug: I love it when I put it in the cotbed before he was born but can't use it altogether:dohh::growlmad:

because they sold cot bed sets before they introdued thr H&S aspects of putting a child to bed!

Gonna be a good girl & go to bed before i consume a whole lotta junk food :winkwink: Night xx

night wud, please will you take my choc digestives with you so I dont eat them! lol

:hugs: to all those that need them!!
Brandi what should anberlin be doing? They all seem to be doing different things - Sam can crawl and walk the furniture, but can't roll front to back which he should have been doing months ago, and hasn't said any words yet and lots of the other babies have.... He doesn't clap like George does, but George doesnt crawl yet etc so it all balences out.

Sorry to use George as the example, but I cant remember what all the babies do new. :haha: xx

I am putting off physio for the next month, I want to see if all this activity with me walking Dylan to and from nursery helps stregnthen the muscles to hold my pelvis in place, if not I will go back and if that doesn't work I will be pushing for surgery, I know I always say that i can cope with the fact that I can't run around with my kids, and I can do the indoors stuff with them, but I really cant, I want to play footie with them, and run around the feilds here and enjoy it all. I just want to be a normal mum and not have all these issues.

So far I only have 3 addresses, Mummy- so you're not the only one dragging feet! (Ahemmmm, *Cough *cough, Hint hint Hint :haha: )

:happydance: GO GEORGE!

Brandi- Women are wonderful, beautiful, soft, sexy, CRAZY, HORMONAL, JEALOUS... I don't even see what MEN see in us half the time!

I have really been struggling with my body/self image- I am heavier than I have ever been and have weirdness to my shape now- My boobs sag  and so does my belly   That and I have no time for myself- my toenail polish is 2 months old, I haven't shaved my legs in god knows how long and I have about 7 inches of roots  I hate my new glasses and my daughter tells me they make me look like a mom- I think the constant bags under my eyes and food/formula stained clothes and general overall frumpiness makes me look like a mom

 thats ok :hugs: you are totally right though, George seems to be good with his hands but not a lot else, Anberlin is mobile and chatty! Leo and aaron are a handful :haha: they really are all doing different things!

speaking of which - I had some baby puffs in my bag tonight (keep them incase he needs a snack while we out and i cant whip my boobs out freely lol) but he picked up the packed, but then he managed to get his hand in and help himself to puffs! lol

What are the things she should be doing and not?

She can't get from sitting to belly without faceplanting, she makes no attempt to get to a crawling position (apparently even kids who bum-shuffle should make this attempt), she doesn't imitate steps when held upright, she only goes backward on her belly instead of forward (apparently she should be able to pull herself forward using her arms on her belly, but doesn't), and she doesn't roll consistently.

I may just be paranoid, but Zoe's therapists seemed somewhat concerned too, so we'll see where that goes.

My little tyke got hold of the assorted crackers (for cheese) and helped himself in 2 seconds flat  got a pic too:winkwink: he's a menace in his walker, gets everywhere, we now have to ensure our cups are not near the front of the coffee table (try not to leave them, they are hot but still)

brandi lots of the may babies arent doing any of those things either! she's only 8 months, and she is mobile so she will take longer to find other means of moving, its not necessary atm!

Brandi, Bethany can't do a lot of them things, she is still wobbly with sitting a lot of the time and she faceplants all the time. I hate the way doctors scare people with their damn charts :hugs:

Aaron face plants quite a lot. Aaron has stopped rolling now he can crawl in his own way.

I hope it comes back that she's just as lazy as George and is happy where she is lol (sorry new but you do have one lazy little lad who will soon run you off your feet when he finds them lol)

See, Anberlin CAN roll, but doesn't, and she's developing in other aspects, but the gross motor appears to be lagging. She has 7 words, claps, waves, uses the pincher grasp on cheerios, but doesn't crawl, doesn't sit on ride on toys, doesn't imitate steps when held upright, doesn't roll consistently, so we'll see what happens.

I'd also say thats a big expectation of an eight month old.... In all the groups I go to with babies the same age as Sam, none are crawling and nor are any walking, Sam just happens to enjoy physical things like that and has no interest in any other things that other babies are doing. xx

Mummy- the film 'war horse' was good! New would defo have a sniffle if she's still hormonal lol
