so apparently shop bought mayo is fine because it is pasteurized eggs, does that include shop bought sandwich's and subway???

because apparently they are safe its just home made mayo from restaurants we
need to avoid but i asked in subway if they mayo was pasteurized eggs and they said no real eggs, and i looked at the ingredients of a Tesco sandwich and it said it used egg white and egg yolk

confused!? what mayo is safe!!!!

Most supermarkets and places like greggs etc will use pasteurised mayo. You can check on their websites, they usually have a faq.

99% of places use pasteurised mayo, it's only in some restaurants where they make their own (fresh for use on the same day ) that they may use fresh eggs x

Greggs defo use pasteurised mayo as I had to look it up a couple of weeks ago and it says on their website - which was good as I'm craving the egg mayo and bacon sub at the mo lol

I thought it was that jar mayo is cooked egg and fresh mayo is made with raw egg?

I spoke to gregs today and they said their sandwichs with mayo are preg go friendly.

So I had a yummy chicken mayo butty for lunch.

Xxx

Have a subway..! It will be pastuerised I'm sure of it, I bet they have massive tubs of the stuff, its bound to be mass produced and pasteurised. It wouldn't stop me having a subway, honestly!! :-)

I know its a faff but if you are really worried you could buy your own mayo and stick it in the subway!! :-) x

any mayo that you eat is fine.

if everyone on here would see that if you go by everything you are told not to eat you wont get the nutrition that you need for the baby and yourself, if you dont feel it is something that you dont think it is safe for you or baby then just don't eat it

Mayo is always made with raw eggs, it's just usually pasteurised. There aren't many places that would risk using unpasteurised eggs, not worth the risk!
