Hi

Im having a proper little panic, I had one of the cheese melt dippers from McDonalds before I realised it had camembert in it which is on the list of foods not to eat. Im really panicking now and feel sick with worry.

Will it have been ok as it was cooked??

i think it will be fine. it has been cooked so i wouldnt worry. im sure the stress is worse than the cheese so breathe :)

Thanks, my other half said ring the midwife and ask if Im that worried but think they will think Im silly.

It was cooked and from what I can tell from googling the cheese is pasteurised aswell so really hope itll be ok.

It will be fine. Cooked cheeses are fine as the cooking destroys any bacteria. Also if it was from McDonald's I'm pretty sure it will have been pasteurized too. Pasteurized cheeses are fine.

Thank you both so much! Think Im still going to worry a bit though.

I was worried what if McDonalds hadnt cooked it enough but Im guessing it was deep fried and I did find this link on the nhs website which I think says deep fried camembert is ok??

Does it read like that to you? In which case I assume McDonalds deep fry them although I cant really find the answer to that??

yeah thats what they mean. and im 99% sure mcdonalds deep fry them i cant imagine they cook them in any other way.

Thank you so much. Guess I should stop worrying then or try to

It will be fine :D I had some of those the other day and they tasted like about 1% cheese and 99% flour anyway so I really wouldn't stress x

Lol I only ate one of the 4 as that's when I realised. Think the ingredients said 46% cheese of which 29% was Camembert I think that's what it meant not 46% cheese Plus 29% Camembert. Their website confused me. Still like you say hopefully not much camembert in them and with being processed so therefore pasteurised hopefully and then cooked hopefully it'll be ok. Hopefully hopefully

I ordered deep fried camembert yesterday as i checked online and it said deep fried kills any bacteria (listeria) anyway. it was delicious. i checked the same website you did as well.
