Mei tai or Connecta - for the larger lady

As a size 16/18 (UK) I am a larger than average lady and am concerned that my last baby carrier did nothing for my figure.
Yes I know it's not a competition, but I just didn't feel good wearing it.

I now want to buy a Connecta or a Mei Tai. Does the Connecta look ok on a larger lady? I quite like the wrap around tie of a normal Mai Tei as I can cover up my fat bits.

Trouble is I bought some fabric to customise a Connecta and now am not sure if I prefer the Mei Tai.
If I opt for a Mei Tai, where can I buy one from that I can use my fabric with?

i can't speak for he connecta but i'm a uk 18 and i've had to order a babyhawk (they're a brand of mei tai) with xl straps as i tried a friends on an i could only just tie it.

babyhawks have panels on similar to connectas.
