Hi ladies,

I know I've read something about women going full term when their cervix before the stitch goes and the membranes are sitting on the stitch. However, that doesn't make me feel super at ease naturally. I would like to hear some experiences about women whose been in my situation, and what happened. I want to hear any experience because I like being informed even if it means your stitch failed becaus of the membranes sitting on your stich. I am 28 weeks exactly today and we didn't think we could get here based on my complications. My doc is thrilled but he's already prepared us for what is to come if I deliver early. At 24 weeks baby was slightly funneling and I had some cervix between the baby an stitch but now it is gone. Sorry for the long post but I feel like I needed to explain how I happened... Anywho, and experiences would be gladly welcomed. Thank you in advance lovely ladies :)

Oo hun sorry you are going through this but their was a lady that had funneled to the stitch at 28 weeks and she still held on till 36 weeks so it can happen just take it easy and rest. Lots of these stories ont eh incompetent cervix thread.

Thank you :hugs: I will post in that thread then :) I'm really trying my best to rest more (Jayla is in daycare so thAts been a huge help).

Hi mizzpod didn't lizzie say she funneld all the way to the stitch with her twins and stayed that way way for 13weeks? I'm sure that's right.

I was told at the hospital that it's common to funnel to the stitch and not to worry as that's why the stitch is there n the first place.

28weeks is a brilliant gestation anyway my daughter was born at 29 and only spent 6weeks in hospital :)

Wow! Thank you!! I had no idea it was so common. Oh I hope I get there especially knowing she got there with twins!!! Double the pressure in her case.
And I'm feeling much better hearing that my gestation is good from someone who delivered around this time. It's one thing to read the "facts" on a medical site but another to hear it from a real woman who experienced it :) I am praying for 32 weeks and now I feel more confident at possibly getting there :)

if i can remeber right lizzie said from 25weeks she was funneled all the way to the stitch and im sure she made it well into 30+weeks.

so try not to worry. iv been having lots of pressure and pain and i went to the hospital just yesterday the consultant said its common to funnel :) i know its not good to hear though as the worry will set in.

at 29weeks the odds are amazing for premature babies. personally after experiencing a baby born at 29weeks i wouldnt be scared of having anothr at that gestation. its a bit wprrying when you first experience it as your little ones in an incubater woth all these machines bleeping at you but it looks worse than it is :)

at 29weeks my little girl had help with her breathing.. but wasnt ventilated she just needed a little help and was soon breathing on her own a day later. she was that strong though that after i gave birth the special care baby nurses carried her from.delivery suite into the special care baby unit without any breathing machines or oxygen.

she stayed in intensive care for a day and was switched to high dependency then to the nursery. she just needes help to stay warm and learn how to suck bottles :)

babies are fighters and stronger than we think

i had a little boy at 22weeks and he lasted 40minutes breathin on his own so you can see how strong they are

Yes I definitely can see babies r super strong!! Im sorry for your loss :hugs: My angel Chrisna was born at 18 + 5 weeks and lived for almost two hours! She was so strong and that's what made me feel so guilty because my body was acting bad and she was perfect :( it's been seven months and I'm still trying to get through it let alone handle this pregnancy. I conceived an unexpected miracle only 6 weeks after i i delivered her so I'm trying to balance all of these overwhelming emotions.
But I have no doubt my baby is going to be a trooper when their born :) and each week will make me even more confident if I go early.
