Hi All,

I switched from BF to FF less than a week ago - my son is nearly 4 weeks old now.
I am just wondering if anyone has noticed that their baby holds alot of milk in their mouths after being fed.
He drinks about 4oz every 4 hours (which I am going to change to 4oz every 3 hours from today cause he is quite hungry) and after he finishes the bottle and when I am winding him I notice that he has still alot of milk in his mouth - and it stays in there for quite a while - sometimes it dribbles out of his mouth.

Is this normal?

Thanks

Hey, They can kind of have a milky mouth afterwards . . . my HV said to me once to keep an eye out for oral thrush but bear in mind if LO has just had a bottle as their mouth will be milky. Is it kind of like a layer or coating as such? It may be coming out with baby drool :flower:

Hey Kte,

Thanks for your reply. He seems to hold quite a bit of milk in his mouth - its not just a layer - its seems like alot.
Ill see how it is for the rest of the feeds today.

Thanks :)

My lo sometimes does this. Think it's when she falls asleep toward end of feed & fogets to swallow!

wss^ It seemed like Carter would hold a whole mouthful of milk, then a bit later it would all dribble out.
