Mini pill - Cerazette - what are the side effects like?

I've never been on the mini pill before, I was on the combined pill years ago but for the past 8 years or so just used condoms, anyway at my 6 week check up the doctor gave me Cerazette which is the mini pill, I just wondered what experiences people have had with it? Any side effects? Was there weight gain like with the combined pill?

hi ya im on tht and have been before, i had a few probs as in continuous bleeding, the first time i was on it i never had a period at all for a yr the second time i bled for months..ive just gone back on it and ive bled for 2 weeks, come off and now bleeding again

thats all ive found, hopefully it will settle down

I was on it for about 6 weeks after I had Daisy and it was awful!
My skin was a mess, I was really moody all the time, it was like continuous pmt! Not good at all, people are different though, it just didn't agree with me xxx

Didn't agree with me I'm afraid. I became the bitch from hell and had less than zero sex drive. I couldn't wait to come off it. Everyone is different though - it may be worth a go.

Yea i have total mood swings and NO sex drive...maybe thats how it works

i went on the mini pill after kaitlin and it was great for me

i went on it at 6 week check, i had horrendous migraines(i am prone to migraine though), i was terribly moody, i wouldnt notice decreased sex drive as i havent got much of one anyway. LOL, i stopped taking it after 2 weeks and period came immediately then i had one within a week of that.

I was on it for about 18 months, I loved it, no periods, zero weight gain, no breast pain (which i suffered really bad with on the combined pill)

I've just come of it after 4 months as it doesn't agree with me at all My face is spottier than it's ever been and I've been having lots mood swings and almost constant spotting.

I'm on it and I have to say, I'm thinking about coming off the damn thing! The mood swings are out of this world, my skin is completely jacked up - greasy and spotty, just like when I was pregnant and I've started bleeding again after finishing my first period 10 days ago! They're going in the bin!

i was on these before having my LO and they are the worst i have ever had TBH i got loads of random bleeding, dry and spotty skin, no sex drive and mood swings!! i wont be using them again xx

I've been taking it for a while and I'm thinking of coming off it and going back on combined pill cos I'm no longer bfing. I haven't actually had a period but I have almost constant period pain. I feel like my body is trying to have a period but can't! I haven't had any weight gain or spots though like some others. I'm having mood swings but I had put that down to other things....

After reading about all these horrible side effects I think I may just stick to condoms, they are a pain, but at least they don't mess with your body like hormonal contraception does!

Ive been on cerazette now for 11 months after the birth of my son and it is having huge side effects on me personally.
I feel like theres nothing worth living for anymore, Im constantly crying, arguing with my partner over silly things but they seem major to me at the time but the worst effect it has had on me is the evil suicidal thoughts Ive been having.
I never felt this way before I started to take cerazette but now I feel so low I cant even get out of bed in the mornings.
Ive heard cerazette stop your periods but this month Ive had 4 periods and they have been very very heavy where Im having to wear 2 sanitry towels at a timeand still leaking.
Ive lost my appetite, sex drive and tolerance to certain things. I hate everything and everyone around me at the moment.

Is this common?

I was on it for a few years before TTC and it's the only pill that has ever agreed with me. No periods which was bliss and they returned immediately once I stopped. I'm about to start it again and hope I have the same experience.

The only thing I do remember was getting period pains when I first started taking it but no period, this wore off after a while though.
