So ever since my 6 week check up after my LO was born, I've been on the mini pill. Never really had any problems with it, so obviously I continued to take it.
But back in July I ended up in the Emergency Room, with a suspected appendicitis. But it turned out to be a torted dermoid cyst (10cm), which resulted in them taking out my right ovary, because it was pretty much dead and had gangrene. Whilst they took the right one away my surgeon saw what she suspected was another cyst on the left. Had scans, and they found out it was another cyst. But it wasn't until they went in (in September) that they realized it wasn't just a regular cyst but another large dermoid cyst (7cm). Luckily this cyst wasn't torted so I still have my ovary.
But I went in for another scan recently due to abdominal pains and they have found another cyst, which appears to look blood filled, so I'm hopeful this one will disappear on its own.
Anyway, my question is; has anyone else who has specifically been on the mini pill, who has never had ovarian cysts before, suffered with any type of ovarian cyst. I ask because I was recently reading online about people who are on the mini pill being at a slightly higher risk of getting ovarian cysts.
