Things are obviously financially tight at the moment so out of curiosity I telephoned my Building Society who I have my mortgage with and explained I was on SMP and only one in house working (house in my name only anyway). Building Society told me I could take a payment break for between 3-12 months if I wanted. At the time because I wasn't expecting that I opted to pay interest only mortgage but now want to phone them and take the option of not paying any mortgage until I return to work, which I will do tomorrow.
I can't believe how easy it was and thought I would let you all know in case this can help someone else aswell.
I want to enjoy as much time with LO as possible and this will help so so much. I will be paying for it for a while mind you but really want to enjoy my maternity leave.
