Mothercare vs Matalan

Your baby will grow out of clothes like no tomorrow and they will get covered...
I shopped at Matalan for my DD, so would prefer to save a few quid than not.

matalan is amazing quality i have found in some cases better than some mothercae stuff we have had next are also amazing they not that dear too

MIL has spent over £400 in Mothercare so far Whereas my Mum has spent less than £250 and got a lot more elsewhere. Shopping around is a good idea as stuff has to be quality checked before I can be sold as baby stuff x

Matalan baby clothes are beautiful and the quality is just fine! Sure, Mothercare is lovely too, but nowhere near worth the price in my opinion.

However, I am on a budget so I'm biased but I'm not a clothes snob at all. A lot of my baby's stuff is coming second hand from friends and family, including clothes.

I will buy a few special things from places like Mothercare and Next, but I don't see the point spending lots as they grow out of it so quickly and I figure there's going to be a LOT of outfit changes in the first few weeks (nappy leaks, little sicky accidents) so they're going to need a lot of stuff to change into.

Take a look at Asda baby! I am addicted to browsing their clothes! I don't have a store near me but the website is fab. They have loads of their own brand but also tonnes of Disney/Loony Toons character stuff, like Lady and the Tramp, Bambi, Dumbo, Chip and Dale, Winnie the Pooh, Minnie/Mickey mouse etc which are gorgeous and fabulously cheap for what they are. I plan to do an online shop for baby clothes from there when I find out what I'm having

i was bought matalan vests and sleepsuits with my 1st in newborn size and they were perfect! washed really well compared to asda's! couldn't fault them i'd maybe buy say one pack mothercare (cause they come in cuter designs) then the rest matalan

I save my money on both stores. How ??? When I shop on Mothercare I use MotherCare voucher code and When I shop on Matalan I use Matalan voucher code.

Matalan stuff is good and I feel really good size wise! Mothercare sizing was really odd for my DD, we'll be going cheaper brands over more expensive!

Matalan stuff is great! I brought my DS lots from there and it washes really well and holds its shape and is a great price too! Will be buying my LO stuff from there too! Asda, Tesco and H&M are really good too, I didn't like Primark for baby stuff, the babygrows and vests wash horrible and go all out of shape! Ill just stick to buying my stuff from there lol. xx

I've got a few of Lucas's basic bits in matalan and had no problem, I don't like mothercare as bought £40 worth of sleep suits which he wore once before I washed them and they've majorly shrunk! Not impressed as all his other 12-18 months stuff had growing roomand these I can jut about get on!

Love matalan, mothercare's stuff is no better quality imo.
