Hey ladies-

I know there have been a lot of posts about fetal movement lately, but I've got one of my own. For the past couple of weeks, I have been feeling definite flutters that I know are the baby and not gas. After my ultrasound, I moved up about a week from 18 weeks 5 days to 19 weeks 5 days and now I'm a little over 20 wks. I have still not felt a definite "kick" yet and I'm getting worried? From the ultrasound we had a week ago, everything had formed correctly and she was very healthy doc said. What do you guys think? I know they said sometimes if you're overweight you don't feel the baby kick until later, but I'm not an overweight person, pre-pregnancy I weighed 120 lbs. I'm now at 134 lbs. Maybe this is just me overreacting, haha. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Some babies are just slower to develop in certain areas. This is the time when the bones ossify and muscles really start to develop their strength. Depending on how much fluid you have around your baby and depending on where they are actually "hitting" you, they may not be able to really reach anything where you would actually feel the contact with any intensity.

Or, like my first child, they could be very docile. I don't remember getting very much movement with her until around 10 at night when she would get the hiccups.

Other than that, she was happy to be quiet and still... so unlike her today!

About two days ago my little one is on a regular movement schedule.. Still not hard full blown kicks but she kicks and punches pretty regular now.. She is still really low kicking in my pelvic region and punching near my hips . Wonder when she will start hitting higher
?

Your baby's probably in a breech position and you're feeling kicks... once the baby flips ... you're sure to feel the kicks in your kidneys, ribs etc. :)

:baby:

She might also be facing with her back out, so all her kicks would be directed inward and you wouldn't feel them

Usually with first babies you don't really feel a definite kick until you're about 20 weeks +. So I bet you'll be feeling a kick very soon. Don't worry hon, I'm sure everything is fine :hugs:. I didn't feel kicks with my son until I was 22 weeks and beyond.
