LO normally only poos once a day
but has just had 3 poos in the last hour and the last one had mucus in it

what could this mean. is he ok?

jake did exactly the same once... then was completely fine and back to normal the next day! I'd say he's probs ok but if it carries on take him to see a doc x

This has happened a couple of times to Frankie, totally freaked me out but as luck would have it the first time he did it we were waiting at baby clinic to get weighed so the HV was on hand to ask about it. She said it is quite common when they are teething as they produce a lot of mucus and saliva and it as many babies just swallow it, it ends up coming out in their poo. It can also be a sign of a tummy upset. Is he showing signs of teething or upset tummy?

I think it can be a sign of a bump to the tummy too (or a little shock) as it happened when my brother tumbled down the stairs years ago!

he didn't show any upset tummy signs but he didnt sleep good last night.
he does drool aloooooot. so much so that the front of his clpthes are always wet and hes always blowing spit bubbles :haha:
you dont think he could be teething so early do you?

could be teething! Teething can start as early as from birth or even before! Rarely babies are born with teeth! lol. I think it normally begins at 4-6 months ish x

My LO is teething already and does have mucus in his poo; he also has mucus when I have any dairy; but this is usually accompanied by tiny blood spots and green sickening smelling poo as well, if its normal otherwise but just mucus its probably due to drool....
